His name is Kostas Antekokpoumpos (not going to look up this spelling, but I think you'll get the point). I believe he was a top 100 ranked player coming out of HS but I believe he had to redshirt last year due to injury. He is the brother of NBA phenom Giannis and the youngest of 4 brothers. While he is a big man (6'11" I believe), he is supposed to be the best shooter in his family. I haven't seen him shoot much in the 2 games I've watched though. He definitely influenced the game when he was in there, but him minutes were limited due to foul trouble. I'm a big fan of Giannis, so thats why I'm intrigued by him.

I appreciate the insight! I'm no recruiter, but I like everything I've seen/heard about him. We don't have a QB in this class yet so I hope he ends up getting an offer from us.

Really just need more out of Ivey, Parrish, and Duvivier if you want to win a game like this. Or offense from anybody outside of Sayles and Utomi. I'm pretty disappointed with Ivey so far this season. Saw him getting into it with the coaching staff last game and he really hasn't brought much to the table yet. Yes he is dealing with a new system, but so is everyone else. I hope he can get it going.

Turns out I am wrong. Leaving all of these guys open for 3s seems to be what is costing us.
-
Just about as bad of a start to the 2nd half as you could think of.
-
Pleasantly surprised to go into the half with the lead. Utomi balling. Need to minimize Baby Greek's impact on the game. If we can do that, I think we win.
-
I would too. I'm not sure we're ready to beat a bowl eligible P5 team, though.

I was just checking to see if Mentor won. Any idea why he doesn't have any FBS offers at this time?

My head tells me we lose by 2 scores. I said it before and I'll say it again, last game got away from us quickly and we just don't have the offensive firepower to keep up. I don't think they are really 4 scores better than us. We can't let them drive down our throats multiple times in the first quarter. The wildcard I think is Kato and how Coach Amato adjusts his game plan this time around. An adjusted game plan on D could help, but this isn't OU or WMU who are one dimensional teams. Toledo can beat you on the ground or through the air. Assuming he gets the start, Kato brings a bit of a different dimension to the offense with his running ability. The real key is which Kato we will get. The Miami game and Kent game (outside of the first drive) were not very good, and obviously the OU game was pretty great. If we get OU Kato then we have a chance to win. May be asking a lot for a freshman, but its just the reality when the offense isn't really filled with exceptional skill players to help him out. Someone said we probably made the championship a year too early and I agree with that. We need to play our best game if we want to beat Toledo. Sidenote: I cannot believe a program like theirs has not been to the championship game longer than us!

I have trouble seeing that we will be anywhere that isn't a MAC contract bowl as there should be more than enough teams eligible.
-
Its a good thing we won our division.

Now that the regular season is in the books: Tied for most wins in regular season history, with a chance to tie and/or break the most wins in season history. Beat 3 bowl eligible teams, for what I assume, is the most wins over bowl eligible teams in a regular season in team history. 3 were beat in 05, but that includes the MAC-C. Have a chance to break this record with a win in the MAC-C and/or bowl game. Win MAC East outright. Clinch 2nd MAC-C appearance in program history. Finished with a better record than the 2016 MAC "Cinderella story" Western Michigan. Preseason prediction by the pundits: 4th in the MAC East.

and OWho loses.

#2 undefeated team in the country just lost to 4-7 freakin' Pitt. You play the game for a reason!

He has been pretty damn good in his current position, especially considering he is a true freshman. He has 1 "drop" all year, so I don't see where your opinion of him having difficulty catching the ball is coming from, unless you're solely basing it on his body type. 3 TD/drop ratio is pretty good if you ask me, and we aren't even talking about his blocking ability here.
-
Starting safety ejected. Will have to miss the first half of the MAC-C.
-
Toledo it is then.
-
It did not look good, but I believe he is back in.
-
Dionte Johnson down vs WMU.

^^ I would be lying if I said I wasn't curious of who your kid is. Does anybody know what all this pregame party entails? I called a ticket rep and he didn't seem too sure. Maybe some appetizers and a cash bar? $35 seems excessive for just that.

I was thinking the same thing......but you're right, its only been two games.

Guys, we will be playing on Championship Saturday on ESPN. There is almost no competition that day. We will be on at every establishment that has more than 1 tv.

Can't believe this one isn't started yet! If Toledo beats WMU, we get a rematch with them. If WMU knocks them off and NIU beats CMU, then that is who we get. I would think we match up better with NIU, but I wouldn't mind a chance to get avenge the beat down we were given by Toledo. Looks like we will get an extra 3 days rest than our opponent regardless of who we face. Ticket options for the game that the U seems to be offering: See you in Detroit!

..And its official. Bye bye Haynes! http://footballscoop.com/The-Scoop/

Also, PJ needs a miracle win vs Wisconsin this week to get his Golden Gophers bowl eligible. Reminder: They won 10 games last season.
