  1. Agree...I don't know I am still holding out some blind hope though that at least 1 of them will be here. All 3 transferring here, sitting out a year, and then deciding to either quit football or transfer and sit out again (i believe) seems unlikely. Even more so when you consider the fact that there is plenty of opportunity at the position and a pretty good QB should be throwing to them. The defense should be quite improved/healthy again which will help and I think people are sleeping on the RB situation as well. Ball is the real deal, in MAC play at worst. He gained 70 on Wisconsin in a half. Even if he gets hurt there is now another P5 guy who has shown promise behind him as well. i don't have any real expectations because there are a lot of newcomers, but I'm not pessimistic, just have a wait and see attitude I guess.
  2. I thought about trying to come up with a list as well, but its just too hard to know what he is talking about. Does he count walk ons? Is he counting players who were here last year, but not eligible? I also do not see the DB transfer from WV listed. Same for Bryce Dixon or Thad Snodgrass, but nobody seems to know about them on here.
  3. Not claiming to be correct as rules are changing all the time, but I believe that is an intentional foul. Meaning 2 FTs plus the ball back.
  4. Good stuff, thanks for sharing. True freshman with instant eligibility. He instantly becomes the highest rated prospect in our class, but it won't show up in any of the recruiting rankings that people look back on as they are already set. I wouldn't mind a few other guys that fell through the cracks. http://247sports.com/Player/Andre-Williams-57233
  5. sOUnds abOUt right. Seems like we have been a second half team most of the year.
  6. I've only seen mention of white players...and Stainbrook is a real name!!
  7. Is that the official listing? I don't recall the infamous Blake Dennis being listed lol. I do agree that that is another bad list (even though some of those guys are also included in Keener's 2015 listing). I also think we can all agree that its hard to track this stuff or classify what class certain players are in due to the many blue/grey shirts and transfers. It seems there was a decent class in 2013 (MTB, Woody, Lane..maybe others I can't think of?) and then I like the quality of this class as well as 2015s., but a drop off in high school players in between.
  8. What did I vote?! My guess is wait and see.
  9. Shoot. That's what I get for going to happy hour. I agree...outside of Boxen and Gilbert....and I guess Edwards if you want to include him in that group, we are not getting anything out of that class AT ALL. Monroe was a good 5th year senior. Bryce did okay...but another 1 year guy. Ray Ray was supposed to be pretty solid, but I don't think he ever qualified. Odd that we included him then, but left out a few guys this year who may not be qualifiers. I agree that that class overall was quite bad. Maybe partially explains why this year's class only included 13 high schoolers but will have 29 newcomers per Coach Bowden. Need to supplement one way or another.
  10. Sure :). Though to be honest I don't recall a lot of them....Off of the top of my head....Featherstone and Davis came in right away and played good. I think Jest should be added to that as well. Playing a DL as a true freshman is a tall task and he has some upside. I rank him as our 3rd best DL last season outside of Marcus and Boxen. Hopefully he has hit the weight room. DeMarkus Glover's film reminded me of Jatavis Brown's a lot as I said in a previous thread. I think he was a non qualifer last year. Believe we brought in a few O lineman to help replace all 5 starters after the Potato Bowl, and Kato seemed like the "crown jewel" of the class, but we obviously did not see him as coach said yesterday he did not want to burn the redshirt at the end of the season.
  11. Another East boy. I've heard good thing about the Brimage kid. Hopefully we can keep him since we were one of the first offers and his older brother will be here.
  12. How many player did the national champions Clemson sign?
  13. Even though it is a small signing day class, I think I feel that this class might be the highest overall quality yet*. With that said, I am not sure I see any outside of Johns not red shirting. i think we are set at a lot of those positions. My guess is that a player that was not announced yet makes the biggest contribution as long as they get through the clearing house, since I see it as a position of weakness. That is either Sampson or Matthew Hanson from FL assuming they qualify. Picking the kid from St. A is not a bad pick either...as we saw what Alvin Davis did as a true freshman. *For everybody who like to contribute nothing but bitching to the board, I do still think there is more improvement needed.
  14. I would guess Marcus is recovering from offseason shoulder surgery that he probably should have gotten in season. I do not believe he participated in any senior all-star games and he was certainly good enough.
  15. I lol'd
  16. That's very classless. I wonder why their fan base has changed so much in attitude since the first meeting.
  17. Who was this confirmed by? Coach or a source you have? I did not hear anything about it during the presser, but did not hear the radio portion. If not being on the roster right now = not being on the team anymore, I suppose that answers our questions about Bryce Dixon and Snodgrass as well.
  18. Well said.I don't recall exact details either, butI think a lot of us had questions about it as coaches comments coupled with the time he missed seemed confusing. Ex. he was a game time decision or "close" to being ready vs. Kent St...then missed multiple consecutive weeks.
  19. I forgot all about him. If my math is right he will be a redshirt junior. Coach said that he wants to use the TE more in yesterday's press conference (I believe in response to Captain's question), but still it seems like we have a lot at the TE/H Back position that we do not use heavily. MTB, Newman Williams, Avery Cagle, Brandon Junk, and now Darryl Long and Kobie Booker. I know people on here like to use Toledo's Michael Roberts' production from last season as something the Zips should try to do. Well we need to understand that was a total outlier. Roberts had twice the amount of TDs for a TE as any other player in the country. Point still stands, though. If we have these guys and use this many scholarships used on them, lets get creative and use them more.
  20. Well I won't go as far to call them "studs" as I don't think any of them have played much, if any college football at all. Highly rated for MAC/talented I can agree with. But yeah, I would expect we know about all of them in the spring as they will all be eligible this season.
  21. Great!!
  22. I like it. While a lot of us think we have talent waiting in the wings (myself included assuming they didn't transfer), it is good to have as many options there as possible.
  23. You guys are crazy. Woody is the QB assuming he is healthy. You heard pure coach speak and Bowden was far from direct when he asked if it was an open battle or whatever. Somebody has to be QB in the spring/when summer camp begins when Woody is out. Doesn't mean they are "the guy" when all things are equal. What I found most interesting is no mention of Chapman whatsoever. Position change or done with the team?? edit: Saw a thread was created stating he is moving to WR.
  24. Per an 11W writer, looks like OSU's scholarship number is at 89 after today's events, so there is still some more fat to be trimmed to get down to magical #85. Let's hope we can benefit from that some. Cinci can't get all the scraps, can they!?
  25. I really hope we got Hanson. He had a nice offer list as well.
