UCF just had an OL transfer to BAYLOR after just coming off a much improved, bowl-bid season. Shambles! AL WR Ardarius Stewart has unexpectedly declared for the draft. Shambles! VA Tech (coming off a 10 win season) QB Jerod Evans just declared for the draft and will probably be an UDFA. Shambles!!!

We fight with every school over players. It is only a good thing if we win those transfers, which we have not yet.

OSU and every other major program has players transfer out or declare when they probably shouldn't for the draft every season for a myriad of reasons. Shambles I tell you!!

I can't think of a single person that has said that. Buts lets keep pushing agendas. I've never wanted football season to start more. This constant threadshitting is getting old.

Even if he finished in summer and walked in December, he used his grad transfer this year and I don't see how he would be able to "double dip". Oh well. Next man up.

I'm not going to try and pretend to know how great they are. But I will say that I think they can beat any team in the conference on any given night with those scorers. Their team build/playing style lends itself to big wins or big losses on cold nights. They aren't a slow grind it out team.

Not agreeing or disagreeing, but they mentioned during the broadcast that the Zips are #1 in the MAC in defense efficiency..

Aa. Jackson's career has been disappointing for me. Is he a great basketball talent? No. But he is a solid athlete with a high motor. He just can't seem to harness his energy into consistently positive play. Shame too as there's a spot for that type of player on every team.

Great game. Great road win IMO. We played pretty darn good. I can't even complain about defense....just give credit to CMU's guards. I don't want to play this Chippewa team in Cleveland.

I would dream of a year like that as well. Kent was brought up above and like it or not they are a pretty good comparison to our program historically. Would you trade this year that WMU had (beat nobody of significance) to go back to what Kent is now? Heck even in Kent's great year they beat a ranked B1G team on the road. Let Bowden finish out his contract, but evaluate, keep options open, and plan for the future in the meantime. We can't afford to buy him out. Save that money for a more high profile coach if needed. Maybe he doesn't turn us into an Ohio, but at the very least he is building a foundation to have at minimum an average MAC program which is valuable considering program history.

Right. We benefited financially just as much as WMU or Ohio or Kent or anyone else did. Thats why I was tracking weekly and rooting like crazy for WMU to make it.

Two OSU lineman are reportedly transferring today. Unfortunately looks like none are coming to Akron, but there are supposed to be more players leaving. Hopefully Fickell doesn't steal our "pipeline" of OSU cast offs. I suppose we will see. If it works out for them, I may change my tune. As I said, it looks like at this stage of the game they will have to settle for scraps as every other head coaching vacancy has been filled. Didn't seem like BG got a prime candidate last year after multiple years of success. They settled for a positional coach from Texas Tech. Other programs like Toledo and NIU have had success replacing head coaches because they are an established program and promote from within.
