Interesting. I'll try to get a media member to ask a team rep their opinions on it...

I haven't noticed injuries being a major issue on our team usually outside of a few guys (now the Browns on the other hand...), but this is something the coaching staff needs become aware about and lobby for. They may already be aware with the FSU connections. A key injury here or a key injury there can derail seasons and program growth. To the contrary, staying healthy can help continue to grow the program at a faster rate than normal, which will theoretically lead to more $$$ for the university. I don't know what the cost is, but my guess is that it's worth it. I would really like us to become first movers in the MAC, if another team hasn't adopted this technology. Here is some more info on what exactly this GPS system does. http://www.catapultsports.com/system/gpsports/

I saw something the other day that said Akron is closest place to watch a division 1 football game from Cleveland (duh). A lot of the alumni are there. Glad to see them marketing the area and would like to see more of it from UA in general. I hate when I go to an Indians game and see Toledo advertising.

Woody and Scott.

agreed. Barrio is fantastic. Never been to Diamond Grille. I tried Bomba the other day in Rocky River (also a location in Fairlawn). The quality was good, but I just wasn't a fan. I guess its more of a Cuban/Puerto Rican/Central American flare to the food. Just too much going on for me.

I'm not going to get too far into this discussion, but its worth noting we have taken kids who have done/been accused of just as bad or worse things. I in no way support putting a hand on a woman, but I do trust coach's judgement. I believe every troubled guy he has brought in as a transfer has stayed clean here so far. Dunn seems to be getting more press than some of the other guys, so I think that makes it more unlikely that it happens regardless.

I think I read yesterday that in order to leave the AAC, teams must give 27 month notice and pay 10-12 (can't remember exact number) million dollars. Seems like they made it hard, but admittedly I have no clue how other conferences compare.

IF Big 12 really expands, one of my picks is Memphis. I think those TX teams are afraid/want to keep Houston down. Potential AAC replacements would be a fun discussion.Have to think our market helps us, along with the stadium and hopefully continued improvement of the football program.

ugh, embarrassing on multiple fronts

I think the only other G5 I would be interested in jumping to would be the AAC. From what we've heard from Marshall basically regretting their move, I have no interest in CUSA.

Could another 5th year RB from OSU (Canton native) soon be looking for somewhere to play? http://ohiostate.247sports.com/Bolt/BREAKING-Ohio-State-running-backs-place-on-team-in-jeopardy-46304433 edit: it appears that is indeed the case

There is a kicker from the other LA who is looking for a place to play. Pretty good, too. http://www.nola.com/lsu/index.ssf/2016/07/lsu_kicker_trent_domingue_leav.html

i saw that and thought the same. Not sure I'd want a guy as divisive as he appears to be around the program.

Their skill sets should compliment one another quite well!

May have gotten a little help in the MAC. Feel like I've got a pretty good guess where he goes... http://www.ubbullrun.com/2016/7/13/12171684/statement-from-nate-oats-on-lamonte-bearden

I couldn't find a thread, but has anyone noticed a seemingly huge marketing effort to sell football season tickets?
-
Definitely, and as an aside, I think a lot on here are underestimating Appy State this season. An 11 win season is impressive no matter the conference you play in. I think we have a better chance against Marshall than them.

Our stout D Line will have a good matchup with the #3 offensive line in the nation, per PFF. https://www.profootballfocus.com/college-football-top-10-offensive-lines-in-notre-dame-stanford/?utm_content=bufferf1ec7&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=college

I am not sure how many of you are familiar with The Basketball Tournament, as I believe this is only it's 3rd year and has grown rapidly each year, but the Canton Bulldogs are a team in the tourney and play 7/16 at 9am. Former Akron Zips on the team include Nyles Evans, Harney, and Tree. I saw a video saying that Diggs was supposed to be on the team, but something apparently changed because he isn't listed on the roster. There a wide range of players in this tourney, which makes it more fun to follow.
