  1. Eh I'm not sure I agree with that decision. He's being held accountable for Scarborough's failed ideas. I liked a lot of what he brought, albeit a little bit corny. There seemed to be a better effort to strengthen alumni relations under him. Hopefully that is kept up.
  2. Think I'll go under with 7-5 in the regular season again. A 7-5 this year shows progress to me from last year's 7-5 because the schedule is tougher. There are big question marks at multiple positions, however. Could sway that by a few games either way. Can;t wait for the season. Anyone know when camp starts?
  3. Oh.
  4. a whole 2 days on campus before leaving the program?!
  5. Based on the other facts presented, yes.
  6. That's too bad. I see his last visit was May 19th. Couldn't find anything on either of their twitter that hinted at him leaving, but I'd say it is safe to assume that's the case.
  7. just for shits and giggles I decided to look at the newly updated roster with what our signing day was. New Roster: http://www.gozips.com/sports/fball/2016-17/roster?sort=year 21 people towards this year's class per the signing day article http://www.gozips.com/sports/fball/2015-16/releases/20160203o4ns3l The ones not on the roster: Alvin Davis, Jr. S 6-0 175 Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. | St. Thomas Aquinas HS Domonick Holley, Jr. WR 6-2 Akron, Ohio | East HS Davon'te Jest DL 6-1 290 Ocala, Fla. | Forest HS Jonathan Neeley OL 6-5 275 Youngstown, Ohio | Ursuline HS True Fresh added that wasn't listed: Tyler Gilchrist (who we knew of).
  8. I think UMASS had a TE who had a chance to get drafted in the past 1-2 years
  9. and Dirk.
  10. thanks!
  11. Well we missed out on having the Akron celebration on campus. Its going to be at Lock 3.
  12. wasn't on ESPN3 last night. Hopefully they put it on there...
  13. Eh I don't want to be 'that guy', and I agree with the phrase, but I still think it is still TBD. The guys choosing us don't exactly have many, if any other division 1 options right now. I watched all of their tapes, and I think they can play so I'm not knocking them...just saying. Though it is probably encouraging that they aren't holding out for other offers and atleast committing to us now.
  14. You guys are undermining Fleck. He has done a great job. That program was near RI Akron level when he took over. Bowden has done a great job as well. WMU might have the top WR taken in next year's draft. Fleck had a true freshman win not only MAC freshman of the year, but also MAC Offensive player of the year and freshman All-American. Trying to knock his recruiting efforts (or coaching) doesn't make sense to me, because he has clearly done great. His record isn't the best because he plays in the MAC West. None of you can say with a straight face that Akron would have won 7 games (or even 6) last year if it weren't for our cupcake East counterparts. I fully expect them to win the West this season, if not the whole conference and he will probably be gone, which can be seen as a good thing or bad thing.
  15. They are naming 4th teams in these things now? Participation trophy effect. DeAndre Scott continues to be underrated. Also, here is the complete listing for anyone interested, http://athlonsports.com/college-football/mac-football-2016-all-conference-team
  16. Came across a read on an interesting prospect we have apparently offered. Never played a down of HS football yet. Looks like he may end up being a recruit above our realistic level, however. http://www.elevenwarriors.com/ohio-state-football-recruiting/2016/06/71414/from-california-with-talent-cleveland-heights-tyreke-smith-hasnt-played-high-school-football-yet-has-ten
  17. Zach, thanks for putting this together as always. One request, would you be able to put the commit's hudl link next to their names?
  18. that has to be disappointing to read. Maybe the MAC can take them back once EMU drops to division 2
  19. I haven't taken the time to look at tape on all of these guys yet, so I don't have an opinion on the talent, but it is encouraging to see the number of commits so far in this class compared to previous years. Especially the number of local recruits. Perception might be changing...just keep winning!!
  20. They are doing very, very bad. Filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in May. Doubtful they will survive.
  21. This is my best guess in the 15 minutes i spent searching. http://247sports.com/Player/Kameron-Duncan-83173
  22. thanks for sharing, Capt. We need more Zips football talk. Its too quiet right now!! Might have to spend my afternoon trying to figure out who this mystery RB is lol
  23. I'm not sure if it is true, but I saw where I believe Jerry West said that he has been an underdog in every single finals he has played in.
  24. Same applies in my profession. UA is as well respected (if not more) in my office as any other regional university as well as OSU, Miami, and Dayton. All of the biggest firms recruit at UA.
