  1. I bet Illini Zip is smiling as Pearl goes home!
  2. My thoughts on Evan from very far(no in person games). He is supreme support for his teammates. They all show how much they appreciate that when he does get a chance to get on the court. His enthusiasm is contagious. I expect that he will have a roll after graduation if not under JG some where. I think he could do a wonderful job with the younger players.
  3. Maybe we are gearing up to meet the FCS scholarship limit for a move down.😀
  4. @MangoZip, thanks for the rules clarification. Now l can sleep easy.
  5. I can't figure out how the scoring occurred by each OT. If the game ended 30-30, how did they end 18-16 in 6 OT's? 48-46 just in OT's? They both kicked FG's in the second OT. None of the stories I've read gave all the details.
  6. There is no question that our pass rush sucks; however personnel may not be the only problem. Even in obvious passing situations, we were reluctant to rush 5. Were we trying to protect a weak secondary? This is a chicken or egg dilemma. Catdaddyp has repeatedly pointed out the stark difference in completion percentages when under pressure. Maybe next year, we will trust our man coverage, and commit more to the rush.
  7. Do you think OSU, SC, and Rutgers are taking a win off their record? Negative Nannies are real tiring.
  8. As a former DE, Nunnally's sack for the win!
  9. I have not watched a down of Kent this year; however l don't think they are as bad as it seems. We will have a fight on our hands. Will we jab jab jab; or will we kick ass and take numbers? I think we will be taking numbers! Let's see some balance. Run the damn ball 30 times. I don't care if they stack 9 at the line; all the better to break the big ones.
  10. Captain, you are correct. We have been loosing games rather than our opponents winning them. Expecting to win contributes to the focus needed to win not only the game but also each play. The muffed punt pretty much ended the last game. We will see in a few hours if the team can put that behind them.
  11. GAME DAY! Wake up people. I think the Zips will carry their last 4th quarter performance into this game. It will be a shoot out. Zips 41 / Husky's 38.
  12. Negative Nancy's, you are tiring! I saw a team that could have rolled over and played dead come off the mat to have a chance in the end. Mistakes are killers. We need to clean them up . Please come forward if you have any ideas to work on cleaning up our game. Talent difference? I think we could see that in our OOC games, but not in MAC play. What do you expect? Winning for sure. Over coming the beat down OOC schedule is harder than you think. For me, our 4th quarter play was very encouraging. It could be the spark that will turn things around.
  13. A couple penalties perplexed me. I thought you needed to point the weapon at an opponent to be penalized. The unsportsmanlike call for pulling an opponent off the pile was real weak. At least on those 2 calls, l felt the officials were looking for a chance to throw the flag. Bullock was on the field quite a bit, but l would like to see more of that. I think a DB would have a hard time with Bullock. On the D, l think l would rush a LB more( even though that contributed to an 81yrd gain). Line play on both sides has improved. I hope we can keep these guys in the trenches and out of the portal (as well as our skill players).
  14. GP1 must be thinking about Wake. Zips win. 27 - 20
  15. Are you guys that old? (American football fan that drops in to get a dose of winning.)
  16. This was my first and probably only game I've seen in person. It was easy to see why our RB's don't get many carries at least in this game. BG was packing it in for most every play. For that reason, l give the coaches a poor grade. I don't think RPO works too well when the D is over loaded. When we ran a quick hitter, we had success in spite of the D crowding the line of scrimmage. We didn't need to throw long; we just needed to throw over the LB's. On D, our aggressiveness cost us. Missed tackles led to chunk plays. If the team keeps focused, they can turn this season around. Well get to 4 maybe 5 wins.
  17. No 4 RB also leaving UNLV. I love all the finger pointing.
  18. The only question for Saturday is how bad the score will be. OSU is loaded with talent, but they can only play 11 at a time. I would think our guys have much more to prove than any of the Buckeyes. Our guys will want to show a national audience that they belong; they will not roll over and play dead! OSU. 48 --Zips. 20
  19. Recruit ranks reflect their offer list. Many diamonds in the ruff are overlooked. Injuries could push a recruit off a big time offer. Out side of P4/5, recruit rank is suspect. Some players need more time to mature. When one looks at the turn over though out the MAC, who is to know the players who were overlooked, slowed by injuries, or late bloomers. QB play could make or break our season. I like to think positive. OOC: 1-3. MAC: 5-3. (Positive only goes so far; one must be a bit realistic.)
