Hey bigjim, keep in mind that the final rating will come next fall. One must also consider the other side of the equation: what did others loose to the portal ( and graduation) before we try ntp predict where we stand in the MAC. Right now, it looks like we have gained much morer than we lost. What about the rest of ther MAC?

Media deals will not pay for the programs. Student fees can only go so high. As the haves seperate themselves from who? How many P5 programs pay their own way now? Advertisers don't have any skin in the game. When the return for their advertising dollars is better placed elsewhere, media contracts will shrink. How many ads are you seeing now on our ESPN+ broadcasts? I think GP1 has been right all along; except, I think we (G5) will see many P5 "have nots" want to join us. Let the big boys play an NBA style championship into March. The rest of us can still put an enjoyable product out there.

At what point will the finacial weight bring every thing crashing down? I hardly follow professional sports; because of the cost to attend a game. I'm not renewing my season tickets to Iowa State football because of the increasing required donation along with ticket prices. Des Moines will host first round games for the NCAA BB. At $100 per game, I'll pass (unless by some miracle the Zips are playing).

Coach Fessler is just one good example. I think it would be interesting to add up the playing and coaching seasons of our entire staff, W/L record. I can't emagine how much they want to get rid of the bad taste of last season. Go Zips!!

Why are people on this board continually ragging on the MAC? I'm not saying that we should of had a team in the CFP, but in our bowl games against similar conferances, the MAC did pretty good. What conferance has the best W/L bowl record?

Iowa State also has a S & CB in the portal. I can't imagine how difficult it is for our staff to evaluate, offer and sign a transfer. We probably need to rely on previous connections from HS recriuting or friendly network connections. The time line is so much shorter than HS recriuting.

It is easy to forget that this is the early signing period (ends today?). After the portal dust settles, we could add some HS talent in February.

I think any additional HS players will be walk on's. I do expect about a dozen JU/CO's and higher level transfers. We need to land some O & D linemen and DB's. I don't know how the TP portal works. When a player enters the portal, doesn't he give up his scholarship? In order to be academically eligable in the fall, wouldn't they need to be enrolled some where in the spring to gain the minimum academic progress? That would be a big incentive to commit in a hurry.

There is a lot of room for more transfers. Who will enroll for the spring semester? Some of these young men could play a roll next fall. It would be nice for them to get a head start with spring ball.

QB is a tough position. We don't know who will be in the room this spring or next fall. Who will put in the time and do the work. QB at D1 is a full time job. There was some skoffing about APR scores elsewhere, but there arn't many QB's in Pre-med. Look at any D1 roster and check out the players major. You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig.

I'm tempted to add up all the points we have given up in the final minute of a half this year( l would include 1:13), but it is not worth it. I hope Christmas comes a couple days early with our signing class. By the way, when will transfers be able to sign? Same day?

Play to win, BUT lets see a lot of people get in on the action. Kellom may need to add some beef; so lets toss him a couple out of the backfield to give him a chance to do something in the open. Find a spot to get guys on the field. Use this game to get everyone motivated to put in the work during the off season.

My old brain is not functioning like it use to, but l thought we once had a game 12 canceled at Buffalo. Team hotel had no snow--stadium had 4 feet. Since neither team needed the game, no effort was made to play it later.

@TennZipmade a great analysis of players! Knowing next to nothing about soccer, wern't these the players that WMU handled the last 2 matches? Has WMU shown everyone the formula to beat the Zips? Will it be up to the Coach of ther Year to bring us home?

I have mixed fealings for this game. I want an all out effort to get a win; while at the same time l would like to see some Fr get some reps without burning their red shirt. You never know for sure what you have until the bullets are flying! I think most of the Fr can apear in our final 3 games and still have 4 more years to play 4. Three months of practice should have at least some of them ready to see some action. I would hate for this to turn into a throw away year, but a few reps could motivate some guys to step it up in the off season.

Blindside block was BS! Did 13 get a penilty for each word? He may have been out of line, but 2 fouls?

This game could have been won in the first half. First: we should have been up 21-0. Put you foot on their neck, and don't look back. Second: with a 1:39 remaining, poor kickoff and TD drive. We just have to stop allowing TD's at the end of the first half!
