Partial OOC schedules are done 1 to 3 years in advance. They leave some openings dues to movements and cancellatiions. Similar to what happens with football. Schools do not wait until the end of the season to do the bulk of their scheduling. Also, some schools are more attractive to paly at than Akron's JAR.

Working on seating for hgih school gym, I was told by one of our architects that every chairback seat = 1 1/2 bleacher seats.

True, but EMU has not won 20+ games the past 7 seasons. I know that back in the 70's when Wyatt Webb was coach and playing in Memorial Hall, students were lining up out side the hall well before the doors opened. the place was packed for most games. Would love to see that now at the JAR.

I omitted the workld Field. All the storage and bkldgs. ion Buchtel Field are to be razed. There would be enough room for an arena at that location, and it is on campus.

Last Saturday, I was talking to two friends of mine. The first informed me that the buildings on Buchtel are slated to be razed. The other one claims that they are looking are Buchtel Field for the site of the new arena. I not saying it's going to happen, so that it is even fact. Just something I heard over the weekend.

From Elton's article in today's PD Akron Athletic Director Tom Wistrcill confirmed that Akron had requested to play a road BracketBusters game. But while Akron coach Keith Dambrot may well have caught the attention of national college pundits with his wish to go on the road, internally there was not much traction. "It was a quick discussion, but not something we pushed hard for," Wistrcill said, adding that he preferred keeping the home game against a good opponent for the fans.

I will have to disagree with the logistics point. As of this moment, the Zips have no idea who they would play if they were playing at home. The same holds true if they were playing on the road. Thye cannot make any plans until they know what they doing. I know in the past, even if they were the road team, they were paying premium prices for transportation and roons. This will not change tomorrow. I am all in favor of making the change if this works for ESPN and gives us a better game.

That was one of the issues. They wanted to keep the money from the concessions, and UA said no. I can see things getting done by 2014. Lockerooms, offices, etc. that are underneath are no problem. I also them at first, just renovating the seating on the 2-sides and not doing anything with the closed end for the immediate future.
