  1. Which would rather pay: Bill Muse, Peggy Elliott, or Luis Proenza?
  2. Half of Tuesday has passed with nothing being heard by anyone. Unless something happens soon, we will have to wait another day.
  3. In the office all day today, again. So i will be able to monitor what is going on. Hopefully, a coach will be named today.
  4. GT is on vacation until 1/3. Knowing George, he is not going to anything that he is not paid to do.
  5. Mike does a nice job. He would really like to stay with the BJ full time. But, they keep cutting instead of adding.
  6. I discovered earlier today that GT is on vacation til 1/3. Typical BJ stuff. Beaven is doing the best he can, since he isn't even a full time reporter.
  7. You're right. Instead of moving forward, we are going in reverse at about 100 mph.
  8. And at half the cost ($25,000) of what it did 2 years ago ($50,000).
  9. If we are trying to get Johnson we better go NOW and not wait around til he has some success (wins the bowl game) like we did with PW and he gets offered and decides to stay at UCLA. He wpn't be staying with the Bruins. Jim Mora has made it clear that will not have MJ on his staff. However, whoever we get we need to nail him down immediately. This cannot wait any longer.
  10. Not only is Rob Fournier a good AD, it seems as if he is a better business man. I seems as if both Paul and Rob have told Akron to take it and shove it.
  11. Just posted on footballscoop. Akron: We hear that Wayne State head coach Paul Winters has agreed to a significant extension that will keep him at Wayne State. We have not checked with our sources today; but we have to believe this means Scot Loeffler will be the next head coach at Akron.
  12. At this point of the process, I think we are beyond giving Winters a 2nd interview. I am surmising that they have a 2nd nd 3rd candidate in mind. I am guessing we will hear something tomorrow.
  13. I not only blame TW, but I also give Rob Fournier a lot of credit. Rob has much knowledge of Akron from an administrative point of view and more than likely relayed that information to PW.
  14. I think you're right. We are running out of options.
  15. You're beeing too gracious to George.
  16. If that is the case, then it looks like Loeffler or Johnson of a dark horse.
  17. From my perspective, it wasn't that Icoach lost. It was he was losing really, really badly! If he were losing games 23-17, 24-21,etc. It would still be losses, however, it would have need just a bit of tinkering. But, getting blown out every week, became the norm for I coach. I think that Dr. Proenza and TW had seen more than enough to warrant a canning.
  18. So, what has Bowden done recently???????????????????
  19. He still is a movie critic for a couple of burb papers in CLE. He covered the Cavs for 1 season, then HS sports for 1 season, and now the Zips. He walks around most times with a chip on his shoulder and does most of his investigating via the social media sites.
  20. Miracle of miracles. RI has accpted a position at Kansas.
  21. This leads to another question... if Winters was hired to be the guy at UA, does his whole staff come with him or do one or more of his assistants stay at Wayne State to lead that program? If the latter is the case, then new coaches possibly with FBS experience and regional recruiting ties could also be on the new staff. This is a hugely important issue that nobody seems to want to think about. New head coaches hire people they have worked with in the past. People often accept assistant coaching jobs based on the relationship with that head coach more than the draw of the particular university. Who does Narduzzi know, who does Johnson know, who does Stoops know, who does Winters know? Who would each get to come with them? The head coach is important, but D1 FBS experience in the staff would be a real plus too. Maybe only one of the guys above is even willing to take the job, and that would make this a mute point. But if we are still interviewing people, the make-up of their staff is a question that the search committee should be factoring in to the decision. Experience on the staff didn't seem to help us the last 2 years.
