I don't think anybody is expecting the Zips (or any other school where it snows) to go to Omaha this summer. But we're usually better than THIS. We had a winning record a couple years ago. cant win if you cant hit. I could find 10 people on campus that could hit better than every player on this team except maybe Drew Turocy. And that's no exaggeration.

I completely forgot to update everyone on the soccer supporters' group (old thread). First off, we decided on a name a while back: The Rubber City Renegades. Here is our facebook group for anyone wanting more info and/or wanting to join. We haven't nailed down membership fees and what not but we are working on it and should have our tshirt design ready pretty soon. Also, we are working on getting our own scarves so that should be cool. So until we get a website, your best bet is to check the facebook group periodically. If you dont have facebook, don't worry, because I will update things on here as well. So for Saturday, we will be meeting at Thursday's Lounge on Exchange prior to the game. The good folks at Thursday's will be opening up early (1 pm) for us so thanks to them. There will be pizza and plenty of beer so be sure to make it out if you can, as there should be a decent group of us. Here is the facebook event for anyone wishing to RSVP or get more information. So hopefully I'll see a lot of you on Saturday...GO ZIPS. (btw look for me if you have any questions Saturday, I'll have a white hoodie on and ill have one beer in each hand. You can also look for Sam, he has red hair...you cant miss him.)

I'm pretty good at deciphering between marketing and reality. If I need to buy bud light, I go to a store, I don't bungee off a bridge to get it. LOL

I want to see one bracket that has the #3 #4 #8 and #11 seeds in the Final 4 There were plenty of people who predicted that there was going to be a lot of surprises this year since the top teams really weren't that good. They were right. I know someone who has the correct final four, I believe it was on CBSsports. I'll have to get the link from her...yes her.

I'm not sure what "stacking" means. I went to the Hawaii men's tennis vs Michigan last weekend. Hawaii's best player played #3 singles, and just lost to a former HS all-American, ranked top 30 nationally. Somehow Hawaii won two of the three other singles matches, but lost the doubles and the overall match. It was only the second time I've attended, and was interesting. Free pizza! Did the pizza have pineapple and ham on it?

Awesome stuff dude...looking forward to it. I made the wrong choice with watching baseball over both UA soccer programs. R4R FAIL.

They laid another egg today....2-0 loss to WMU. Just dismal situational hitting, they really don't have much offense.

If Bardo is coaching Zeke I won't ever come to another game lol I wouldn't mind Bardo teaching Zeke how to be aggressive and throw his body around a bit. And if Zeke played with half the heart Bardo did, he would average a double-double and around six blocks a game to go with. Not saying Zeke doesn't play hard, but he definitely could put out more effort.

And to think, RI ran one of our top talents at the position out of town.

If he transfers I don't blame him totally, but at the same time what the hell is he thinking? Next year he has a chance to play and earn his spot, not to mention he has a ring to pick up at one point for being a MAC Champion basketball player. Maybe it's just my undying obsession with UA talking but I just don't get it. Maybe he thinks those greyshirts are going to take his spot?

Keep Zeke out of foul trouble, get him in shape, add 30 pounds and play him 40 minutes a game....problem solved.

Or, you run into a team that plays poorly on offense for a couple games straight. The way ND played last friday, Akron could have won if they could have scored. Akrons great defense didn't beat a poor offense. Of course, but usually shooting somewhat respectable is a given....an offensive performance like ours on Friday was definitely out of the norm, even for us.

If i'm not mistaken, FSU has the lowest opponents field goal % in the country this season. That win wasn't exactly surprising to anyone that's watched FSU at least a handful of times. Just like in most sports, good defense beats good offense...and in this case GREAT defense beats very good offense. The 'Noles will be tough to stop if they score like they did tonight, because they are long, quick, and extremely committed to team defense.

ZEKE the year of Zeke is now upon us, he finally started figuring it out late in the season and his defensive presence was as important as anything on this team. The Gamechanger will be poised to dominate in '11-'12.

A buddy of mine always says they should have named their athletic teams the "Ducks". I'll let you guys figure that one out...i like my warning level at 20%, thank you very much.

This works on the iPod Touch also, I loaded it last night. Looks pretty awesome. I'll test it with tonight's games. Tested last night,works fine. Totally free. Yeah i used it last night from the rec in between playing some pickup basketball to watch the first game. Awesome app.

vs FSU would be some game. They would be out for revenge, and we KNOW we can beat them. Are there any players remaining from either roster? Wasn't that 4 years ago or more? I don't think the psychology of that game would be as you describe it at all. If beating ND in the first round, that would provide all the confidence we might need to beat FSU...why is my alarm clock going off again? I am pretty sure that D ROb, Brett and Bardo were on the roster then. Nick Dials hit those big threes and mcnees. I would love to see that. That was a game we were NOT supposed to win. I have it on video. Still watch it once in a while. The OT part, it was amazing. I was there...second row behind the bench...EPIC game. I want a rematch.
