  1. Nice to see a freshman (Gilbert) making an impact on ST.
  2. We don't meet the criteria.
  3. We don't meet the criteria.
  4. It read like an article almost exclusively based on stats without watching games.
  5. Miami will consider this to be one of their best shots at winning. They sure have turned the ball over a lot. I look for a defensive score in this game.
  6. There really should be no, "suddenly" about it. I heard the college sports on Sirius talk guys talking about him in September.
  7. That would probably be the injured Newman Williams.
  8. Add the Poinsettia Bowl on Dec. 23 to the MAC bowl list for 2016.
  9. Any idea where to find the replay?
  10. Agreed. This has been my concern dating back to PSU game last year. Tommy has seen some success throwing inside the red zone because he can throw more than the fade but we seem to self-destruct inside the red zone with penalties, drops, or other weirdness. Tommy is able to really gut it out on the ground, thankfully. His pass to Wolf in the endzone was a nice looking pass. Woodson did a void jib recovering from the end of the first half mistakes and playing within himself in the second half. I loved the pitch back to Woodson play call. It's a shame they didn't connect, but hopefully we will see a little more trickery going forward. That being said, our trips to the red zone seem far fewer, which points back to our recent O-line issues. Let's hope we score some quality talent in this area in the off season. I have seen we have been recruiting some JUCO O-line players. Perhaps we can get some higher quality transfers, too. A couple of nice catches from Coney today. I heard one of the announcers mention that Mounds (I think) said we were very deep in the secondary. This is encouraging as they have really started stepping it up and it was an area of concern going into the season. Hopefully the guys in the 2 and 3 deep spots will be ready to step in next year.
  11. Might not count on it but wouldn't rule it out, either. Bowden has stressed that we need the defense to win games and that might mean needing shut outs from them. Clearly he has challenged the defensive unit to step and shoulder the burden. Hopefully they can be enough to get us to a bowl. A bowl would be huge for us in several ways and a fitting reward for guys like Grice who have gutted it out through some ugly times.
  12. Agreed. UMass gave ND, Toledo, and Temple all problems and I was concerned that this could become a breakthrough game from them. We held Frohnepl(?) to 179 yes. Well done. JB1 was in their backfield all day long. Offense held the ball for over 20 minutes in the second half. Hat's off to Woodson for a nice second half turn around. Some gutsy running from him today.
  13. Phenomenal game by the defense. The secondary has really stepped it up the last 2 weeks and the front 7 continues to play great ball. Specialists on special teams continue to be problematic.
  14. It works both ways... and while we are at it... not every mistake calls for a coach to be fired and not every loss is the result of being, "outcoached."
  15. Even though icoach was a failure, I'd wager he still has a better grasp if the game than you or anyone else on this board. There is a vast difference between questioning a coach's decision and personal attacks. Go ahead, question the decisions, but maybe dont assume you know everything there is to know about the decision. I won't be bullied into shutting up. The way some of you try to shut up people who stand up to the baseless and often poorly informed negative attack of the coaching staff. I would think I am dealing with a bunch of liberal Democrats...then again, I probably am.
  16. If it makes you feel better, go ahead. I guess I would just rather admit that a head coach of a Div 1 football team knows more about the game than some losers who have never coached a game in their lives. Go back to your beer and pot.
  17. Nice to see the high and mighty out in full force tonight. I keep scanning the news waiting to see where one of you get hired.
  18. Zips 10 UMass 6
  19. Did Sharpe just start playing WR in August, too?
  20. I agree. I completely believe we can beat all four teams we have left but could also get beat by all four teams. We are all fighting to prove that we are not the bottom of the conference.
  21. I don't know why any school is paying out to head coaches when you guys obviously know it all. My point is that you don't know is and who is not nursing an injury. You don't know who is being disciplined and who is not. You don't really know how what Jerome has not yet learned impacts the plays. So if we put Jerome in and he is only effective at one or two plays, should we run them every time? Have you noticed he does see more snaps in games where he can be more effective? Did you see Jerome open at all in the second half against CMU? Do you think if we put him in for twice the snaps tat suddenly changes? There are a thousand dynamics and variable that none of us gave insight into and to critique how many snaps a particular player sees or does not see is stupid.
  22. So you are going to ask a kid who doesn't really know a route or run it very well to run it? That is simply ludicrous. It has also been pointed out that he is still learning to block. Don't you think the coaches want to get the most value from him that they can? If he was ready to do more, we would see more of him. One of the best things that could happen to the program is if Jerome became one of the elite players in the conference and gained some more national attention. Honestly, this type of second guessing is just ignorant. People fail to realize that there is a lot more that happens behind the scenes than we will ever know.
  23. When you consider their avg PPG and our defense's stats and ranking, I don't understand the odds, at all.
  24. No, this is stupid. Do you really think you can just throw him out there without being able to run all of the routes well? Do you really think you should bench kids who know how to other parts of the role better? That type of thinking does a disservice to the skills players learn at the D1 to excel at their position. Use him for what he is good for now... add him in as he learns the craft.
