It sounds like snaps will increase as footwork and route running improve.

I am guessing most have but don't have the right personnel. It also takes some time to get your team into the physical condition necessary to run that offense and defense. It is a little hard when you are still heavily relying on transfers to get everyone there. I don't disagree. If you remember the fake punt from 2013 against Toledo - the players called that, not the coaches. Trickery is always a catch 22. You look like a genius when they work and an idiot when they don't. Lesser teams will occasionally successfully pull off a trick play, the better the team, the higher the likelihood of being successful. We also lost the play we would run when we would let D'Orazio throw. That was a nice option for us. I wonder if Jerome can throw the ball?

BGSU putting up 62 points against OU tonight. Johnson just a couple yards shy of 4,000 yards in last 10 games. I don't see another MAC team beating them for the conference title.

Boxen has been a beast.

Who's the sissy now?

Yeah, actually these are the types of things that weigh into those decisions. Look.. what I don't get is why you want to stink up every thread with your own selfish Bowden rant. His value as a coach has been hashed and rehashed Grow up.

And comments like this help how? Recruits and their families do read these boards and it would be a shame for the comments of a lone low class commenter to get in the way.
-
This will be short-lived, thanks to NIU.

Look, if you want to throw personal attacks at our head coach, go post on the Can't State board, @Zipgrad01. Questioning decisions is one thing, but a low life personal attack is both uncalled for and undermines the whole concept of supporting the team. It's completely unacceptable.

I don't disagree, I just don't think it painted the UA football program in a bad light.

Yeah, but it seems as though they were pointing out that addictions came out of prescription drugs after surgery, not anything related to football.

Captain Kangaroo, +1.

I'd like to see us with a big enough lead to be able to pull a lot of starters in the 4th. We need them to win out.

Williams was playing, at least some. He was on the field during the 12 men on the field penalty. Never noticed it before, but Richie Hlay is HUGE. Can't wait until we start to see him on the field. We have a lot of young guys learning to play. There is a steep learning and adjustment curve from HS to Div 1 football. I really am looking forwards to seeing more from Cooper, Means, Edwards, and the younger O line kids. Looks like the Zips have been recruiting hard for O line talent both at the HS and JUCO level. There were some O line recruits and a QB at the game per TB. It's hard to say Woodson couldn't come through when we needed him to when to when there were no receivers open and apart from one down, the last 2 possessions had horrible pass protection. We need the receivers to do a better job getting open. He did throw a nice pass where only Lane could get to it, but the defender did a really nice job taking it out if Lane's hands on his way down. It would have been a really great catch by Lane and I think as he grows as a receiver, we will see him make those catches in the future. The receivers, in general need to improve at getting open. Woodson made some really tough throws across the field while on the run, too. I would like to have seen us use a trick play at some point, either fake punt or something. We needed a little spark ro open things up. We had a brief brake like that after Lane's big catch. Hundley's best run followed that, if I remember correctly.it would also help take some pressure off of a young QB.

Specialists (punter, snapper, kicker)have stunk it up for us recently, but today was not on Robert Stein's shoulders. The extra point was a terrible snap and the FG was a 48 yarder, into the wind. So, for those calling to bench Stein, know what you are talking about before going after individual players. We would be better off if McNeil never played another down for us I hate that Newman Williams is hurt, again. We makes a huge difference for us. Woodson's numbers were neck and neck with Cooper Rush's numbers and he continues to improve. He is more than good enough for us to win. The offensive line looked bad. I don't know if the tackles were off from the time off from being injured, but the blindside has been exposed for 2 games in a row. I hear people yelling at Woodson to throw the ball at the end, but the coverage was good, he had no one to go to. I think CMU may have done the best job at containing Hundley and Woodson of any team this year. Imani Davis had a very good game, again and is what I expect from a senior WR. I am excited to see some of the young talent work their way in, like Cooper and Edwards. Edwards seems like the type of back who can cut some big runs for us in the future. Penalties hurt us, but were better. The hot headed penalties seem to be finally gone. We continue to do a good job protecting the ball. We lost by a touchdown to quality team and it was a near tie in almost every statistical category. That tells me we are on the threshold of being a real competitor. I wouldn't mind seeing us go no huddle a bit more and picking up the tempo, but I really thought the short passes we threw today were effective ay moving the ball. However, Lane was covered pretty tightly and thus it was difficult for us to make big plays. We could really stand another big play receiver so that opposing teams couldn't focus on Lane. I was glad to see Hundley return to the game after leaving, injured. To those of you who think they know so much and want to fire TB, I have 2 words for you: Grow up. Your rants grow wearisome and only expose your ignorance. It really isn't all about you.

Don't look now, but Miami is giving Buffalo a run for its money.
-
I agree. It was good he got some experience under his belt. He will be a solid performer in the future.

Really glad to see the return of our 2 starting offensive linemen and Neiman Williams. As these three have trickled out of the offense, we have struggled. Both Woodson and Hundley should benefit from their return and we will have the best look at a more balanced offensive threat than we have had since ULL. If you think about it, the bye week was Woodson's first opportunity to practice with the first team without the pressure of preparing for a game that week. I am sure that was a weolcoime break for everyone. You cannot get too hung up on stats, either, as EMU is the #2 pass defense and we had no trouble, whatsoever, putting up points. I think this game is winnable and could end up as a tough, hard fought game by both teams. I think this might actually be more winnable than Buffalo, but have major concerns about both teams. There is a lot of parity in the MAC and almost any team can win any game in the conference. Go Zips!

The forecast is cloudy with a high of 55. I'll take it. Finally, a dry home game.

I doubt any of us have any idea of how comfortable he is. He can't come out in public and communicate panic, confusion, or anything other than that they have a plan and to try to keep the kids' chins up. We are making progress at recruiting and these kids are learning the system and will be ready to step into the roles when needed. Kyle Ritz is a great example. Big kid, athletic and doing a decent job but will even better with a few more games under his belt. He's only a redshirt freshman. There are a number of kids like that. When you have the records we have had, plus the attendance at games, coaches have to go beat the bushes for diamonds in the rough and pray some lf them pay off. Would you rather your kid play for a team that goes to bowls and is competitive or a team struggling to break out lf losing records and made headlines for the worst attendance in the nation and canceling the baseball program. When you consider what is stacked against us, it is remarkable we get the kids that we do. The Bowden name, personality, and character is a big reason we get any talent and are not at the EMU level.

I was mistaken. They are not getting the week off.

The only place where there has been any mention of Chapman switching to WR is this forum. I just don't see it happening. He isn't that tall, for one thing and secondly, who knows if his hands are stone cold or not? Also, the team is getting the week off, I believe per TB MAC head coaches call.
