  1. I would agree with you that they will have more. But, they only averaged somewhere in the 17k to 22k range in "announced" attendance during the season at home, so I wouldn't estimate that their core followers are that much larger than ours. But certainly, 3 hrs. vs. 1 hr. will be a noticeable difference.
  2. That's why I stated above that the MAC raising its profile does not mean that you have to hope that Kent becomes massively successful.
  3. I have 2 questions: 1) How did you arrive at the conclusion that there were only 3 bowl teams in 2015 that we could have beaten. 2) Why would you want to play a "nobody" in a bowl game, when it's probably our best opportunity all year for national exposure?
  4. If we don't go to Detroit, I would take that in a second. Great destination for fans, great weather, and a chance to knock off the best program in the Sun Belt over the last 5-10 years.
  5. Wanting the conference to improve it's national profile is not the same as wanting Kent to "win every game unless they are playing us".
  6. The number of people who are aggravated from experiencing exactly the same thing is apparently even larger than I thought. All of the important people in the Athletic Dept. Let them know. This might really be a pretty easy fix. Location or Volume would alleviate the problem.
  7. There have been plenty of others who have made the appropriate people aware of the problem too. Maybe they'll find an easy solution by next year.
  8. I'll make that designation with my next donation. Maybe I can make it enough so that the facility will forever be referred to as First Energy Stadium, Cub Cadet Field, and the Skip-Zip Audio System.
  9. This probably means that you were also certain that we were DOOMED when OU scored on the 2nd play from scrimmage when we played them?
  10. I'm sure that opinion can differ. But, Idaho was still a bid we got when we were the 7th best team in the MAC, so it apparently wasn't very coveted. But regardless, I'm talking about being in Alabama vs. Idaho in December. And I'd love the opportunity to beat the Sun Belt Champ, if we aren't going to draw a P5 school. Just venting. I don't believe that NIU should get a better draw. And if we aren't going to Detroit, please don't send us to Idaho again.
  11. I was just pointing out places where I've been on my visits there, which would have interest to sports fans. I assume you're all sports fans if you're going to a soccer tournament. The touristy crowd shouldn't be around this time of the year, and those are truly enlightening attractions. You'll be shocked to see that the Louisville Slugger factory/museum is still right in the city in an ancient building. Very authentic. You could also venture an hour South, and hit the Jim Beam property too. Sorry guys, I can't help you on the location of the illegal gambling, hookers, or dog fights in Louisville
  12. So, I think I am just going to stop reading any Bowl Projections, because they just upset me. I looked at SB Nation a few minutes ago. NIU vs. Arkansas State in Montgomery Alabama Akron vs. Wyoming in Boise Idaho Please tell me it can't be possible for us to go back to Boise (The place we went 2 years ago when we were only the 7th best team in the MAC). Meanwhile, NIU....who didn't even win their division....could go to nice, warm Montgomery Alabama to play the probable champ of the Sunbelt?
  13. Several really nice attractions for Sports Fans too, such as the Louisville Slugger facility/museum, the Muhammad Ali Center, and don't leave town without stopping to see Churchill Downs.
  14. Not just make-up games. The Sun Belt still has to play their last week of conference games this week. There could be a couple of teams there that either gain/lose eligibility also. And with bowl games out there with Sun Belt tie-ins, such as in Orlando and Mobile, they are certainly waiting for the results of the Arkansas State / Troy game, to see who wins the title.
  15. Well, knowing that we were the only team in the country to be Bowl Eligible and not receive a bid in 2004, I'd guess an Akron team with a 6-6 record right now would definitely be viewed as a part of "the bottom of the heap" if a few teams are going to be left out this year.
  16. Those of us who sit in front of that press box, you wouldn't believe how loud that music is, or the PA announcements. I understand that you need to hear that in other areas of the field, but it's almost unbearable. My wife wants us to move our tickets next year. She's always covering her ears. It's a shame that choice seats have to endure that issue. I don't know the solution, but we've already informed everyone who can do anything about it. The problem might just be the location of those speakers. If higher, that might be the solution.
  17. I'm not going to say that Toledo can't beat us by 20 points. But, to be listed as a 20-point underdog is a complete lack of respect.
  18. Remember, this is the MAC we are talking about here. Toledo scored 10 measly points against OU's defense, and we racked up 37 on them the following week.
  19. Man, that ONE SPOT in the seeding has come back to really be costly to us. It sure would have been nice to play this game at home. I hope that if enough people want to go to the soccer game, bus transportation will be provided. But I wonder if there will be enough interest in a 3rd round tournament soccer game with the overwhelming demand to follow the MAC East Champs on a much shorter ride to Detroit on Saturday morning? Maybe it would be different if it were an NCAA final or something. Good luck to our boys in Louisville!!
  20. Bench player is the best role for him? Maybe. But I'd also hate to lose some of the other things he can do out there. In particular, he's tied with Poke for 2nd on the team in rebounds right now. There's just not enough capable people to get things done right now. But, what I would like to see is Ivey taking more like 6-8 field goal attempts per game, and make them quality opportunities. I think that's more in line with what he's able of handling offensively. You can't have a guy taking so many shots (2nd in FG attempts) when he's shooting 24% from the field.
  21. You're right. That's when everything fell apart. Here's what needs to happen. Someone else on this team who has the shooting ability and mentality of a point scorer will need to come forward. My feeling is that this will have to be Patton, or possibly Parrish. The coaches probably also already see that Patton has that makeup, and that's why he remains in the starting lineup right now. There's just no telling when/if that will happen this season. Yes he was. But, I don't think you'll find that it's a chemistry problem with his teammates. There was no pressure on him last year, being on a team where he didn't have to carry much of any of the scoring burden. He's asking himself to do so much more offensively right now, and I think he's probably reaching beyond his ability. I love the guy, and I think he can do a lot to help a basketball team, but taking nearly 2 times as many field goal attempts as anyone else on this team (like last night) probably isn't going to be our best recipe for a good offensive night.
