I wonder if there's any way to get the Rubber Ducks to sponsor the Chuck-A-Duck thing. Makes way too much sense.

So today Webster was out on the court to help pick up the winning duck.  My son actually threw it and won.  When we went to claim the prize, not only did we get the cash, but Webster was there and ave us a voucher for 4 tickets to any Ducks game this year.  My son said it was the best day ever!

Ken Babby, the owner of the Rubber Ducks, is at a lot of the games.  It would be great to see the Zips work with somebody who excels at putting people in the seats.

Didn't know Ken was a Zips fan.  That's a big deal.  Dude is one of the brightest young business leaders in town.  He's become a true Akronite!

We've been saying for a couple years that UA needs to learn all they can from the RubberDucks.

Good morning, Zips fans!

I wanted to let you know that we only have a few hundred GA tickets remaining for our home game vs. Kent State on 2/17 @ 7:00pm. As an appreciation of you being a season ticket holder, you are able to purchase additional GA tickets for just $10! These tickets are normally $15 each. Please give us a call at (330) 972-6920 and reference that you are a season ticket holder to get this rate before we are completely sold out. Thanks again for your support. Go Zips!

Figured I'd pass it along in case any of you season ticket holders missed the email.

FWIW attendance this yr (3196) is  is essentially the same as last yr (3335). If you back out the KSU game last yr-- because it has yet to be played this yr, it is  3196/3203.

Some things never change

Just wait until they add a 4th hippity hop ball to the dot race.  I hear they're contemplating real ducklings for the duck toss too.  Those will bring the people in.

Wait a second here that is just madness. Next you're going to tell me they're going to add a headband to dress like a Zip.

I wasn't an Economic major, but I see something strange here.

We're still a week away from the Kent game, there's only a few hundred tickets remaining (according to the info shared above).  Yet, they are discounting them dramatically to sell the rest of the tickets?

The supply/demand/price logic that I know doesn't make sense here.

Where do you see they're discounting the K.ent tickets?  Are you referring to the 3-game ticket package?

I have not read the Rubber City Daily myself yet, but it's almost like cleveland.com realized there is a void in Akron news coverage :tomato:

It's taken them this long to figure that one out?

Meh, I didn't see them lowering the price as a means to sell more tickets. The tickets would have sold anyways with that small of a supply left. There will probably be people showing up to buy tickets the day of the game and won't be able too. It's a good way to make STH feel more appreciated and who knows maybe it leads to a few people they bring to buy season tickets next year. Also, if an Akron STH is purchasing to bring a friend, spouse, family, etc. it's keeping those tickets out of a Kent fans hands.

I am a season ticket holder and have bought GA tickets numerous times during the season at the window before a game.  The first time I bought them and identified myself as a season ticket holder the price was $10.  I believe this is a fringe benefit of being a season ticket holder is to buy GA tickets for $10.  Great policy since it rewards those people who support the team.

I wasn't aware of this. I'll have to keep this in mind

That's not really discounting tickets because it's only for season ticket holders. Not everyone can get them. It's probably to make them feel appreciated and to try to reach a sell out sooner than gameday.

If this is true I think it's a great idea to give season tickets holders a little perk.  Because of my schedule I did not buy season tickets this year & thought they had raised the GA price by $5 this year.  Without a season ticket they cost me $15 per.  I would have saved $$ if I had just bought a season ticket & simply didn't use them half the time.

P.s. Just an FYI, I get GA tickets so I wouldn't be responsible for a disgusting, empty blue seat in the lower bowl!
