AWESOME job Zips! Big time performances from Dog, Noah and Josh!!!

BYU on deck?

I will expect Pres. Wilson to become an honorary non-Mormon for that game ;)

BYU-UTA game on espn2 in one hour...

I've disliked Houston ever since Mack Rhoades left Akron to be their AD. So it does feel good to beat them.

Even NIT wins will get people's attention and help recruiting. Hopefully things fall into place and they can get some more.

Still sucks that every bracket I fill out feels like a punch in the gut.

Wow. Glad to see them finally come through in a postseason game. Not where we want to be, but still a step forward IMO.

I am a complete butthead, doubting their resolve and see thrm come through.  A step forward indeed for them, and maybe I'll learn to be less doubtful.

Correct me if I am wrong, but a home game is still possible since Bakersfield won.  If Bakersfield wins as an 8 seed and we win as a 7 seed then we get a home game.  Now that would be nice!  A home game to get to Madison Square Garden.

We DO however, need TWO more wins to make the Final Four at MSG...  Houston may be the best team we could play till...?

That's correct.  That's the only way we can get a home game is if the #8 Seed in our bracket wins their 2nd round game.

I'm just glad the season isn't over!!

I don't think you're going to notice much of a difference in quality between any of these NIT opponents and Akron, regardless of the Seeding.

Akron's RPI - 58

Houston - 54

Potential 2nd Round Opponent BYU - 65

Potential 2nd Round Opponent UT-Arlington - 45

We're all pretty much the same.  You just have to want to win the games.

Tougher.

Went WAY TOO FAR with that!

Happy for the W tonight. Hope the 2nd round will be played with effort for 40 minutes. We started to pick it up after we saw the game and W in reach tonight. Glad to see we had something left.

I think BYU is better than Houston. I hope they get beat tonight. Would be a nice "break" in our favor.
