Physically, he looks like a drop-in replacement for Antino. #9-rated PG in Illinois is pretty impressive. 1 Quote

K92 Posted April 28, 2017 Report Posted April 28, 2017 Groce sucks. (((Kidding))) To quote my departed father, I think we "fell in a pile of s.hit and came out smelling like a rose". Keep up the good work JG. Exciting times to be a Zip bb fan for sure. 2 Quote
akronzips71 Posted April 28, 2017 Report Posted April 28, 2017 Does he have to sit for a year? Wish he was taller. Quote
LZIp Posted April 28, 2017 Report Posted April 28, 2017 Size is obviously a concern. He does look for talented than TDM though. Hopefully it turns into a package deal with the ECU player. Quote

Played in plenty of games, and scored 5 ppg. I wonder if anyone knows more of the story. Disgruntled with playing time? That would seem odd if he was just a freshman. Homesick? Not likely if he's not going back to Illinois. I wonder why he went there to begin with. It looks like he had some better offers. Maybe he was tired of the West Coast Beach Life, and dreamed about what summers would be like on Summit Lake He's still young enough that we could hopefully grow another inch or two. Jalapeño Zippy Posted April 28, 2017 Report Posted April 28, 2017 The kid is quick, shifty, good court vision, throws ally oops - several current Zips will like that, makes the open 3 -- He can play in our league and will do well. He fits Groce's style. Quote

NWAkron Posted April 28, 2017 Report Posted April 28, 2017 Watching him early in that clip just walking by the defense for a lay up reminded me of the Zips defense this year. 1 Quote

Jalapeño Zippy Posted April 28, 2017 Report Posted April 28, 2017 He's got an edge to him, flashy, fearless, the ability to take the ball to the rim or hurt you from outside with the shot or driving to the basket for a layup or pass - reminds me of a shorter DJ Cooper, I'll take that. Quote

Like most of us, I only saw his teams play a few times in those OU/Akron games back about 6-8 years ago. Then I see people who've complained for years about short guards at Akron say that this guy will "do well and fits Groce's style", before he's even put on an Akron practice jersey. Please, enlighten me. Quote

zippy5 Posted April 28, 2017 Report Posted April 28, 2017 also - 6' my a** I don't care what he was listed it, he wasn't 6 feet tall Quote
Blue & Gold Posted April 28, 2017 Report Posted April 28, 2017 This guy reminds me a lot of Antino. Quote

kreed5120 Posted April 28, 2017 Report Posted April 28, 2017 I just assume all heights are overstated by 1-2 inches. Quote

clarkwgriswold Posted April 28, 2017 Report Posted April 28, 2017 I thought all Groce guard recruits were 6-2 and over! I don't care if they're 3 feet tall if they can play. 1 Quote
