Game 5- Fordham

I've counted 3 very difficult low-percentage shots that have fallen for Fordham.  Zips offense is non-existent.  Please don't make me regret my $30 😂

We're getting good looks, just can't hit the broad side of a barn. Zips player seem to panic as soon as they touch the ball.

I try as hard as anyone to believe in something but there is a miasma hovering over this athletic program that never seems to clear up.

We might  as well be playing 4 on 5 on offense when Tribble is on the floor. I think our shots will start to fall and there’s not as much. Will the difference be enough to overcome the deficit is the question.

Even the OOC opponents are starting to figure it out.

 

Get in the locker room, get them focused and try to get back in it fast.

Far worse!!   We cannot hit a 3 and the shots are not even close.  The only thing that is working is feeding the ball to Freeman inside.  I still think that playing Wheeling and the other crap team did nothing to help prepare the Zips for this game.  Probably the worst shooting half in recent history.  I can only recall Trimble and Castanada hitting jump shots.  We must be 0 for 10 on 3 pointers.  Everything as been short or well off the mark.

I completely agree!  Wheeling does little to prepare for these games.

I understand it is one of the cavernous hockey arenas.  Those types of backgrounds can wreak some havoc on shooting, but they need to adjust.

 

Trimble and Castaneda need to make 3s for this offense to run smoothly.

They just don’t have it today. This group has a long way to go, but the ceiling is very high.

Ali cannot hit the broad side of a barn from distance and takes a 3 point shot about 8 feet behind the 3 line.  If I were Groce, I would pull him.  Clark then takes an off balence 3.  The only thing that has worked is feeding the ball inside to Freeman.  Where is the teamism?

So both teams are awful.  Have exact stats but Fordham made 3 behind the arc and Zips made zero.  = 9 point difference

This is an embarrassing loss. As embarrassing as I can remember under Groce. Complete opposite performance from what I watched vs OSU.

Fordham is a terrible team, but they're still the much better team. I'm not sure if Trimble and Walton can coexist in the backcourt if Trimble keeps shooting it this terrible. Every team is going to guard Akron this way moving forward.

Akron cannot even hit a foul shot.  The wheels have come off the wagon.  Even the annoucers are hoping that the Zips will hit a 3.  I don't think I have ever seen such a bad shooting team.
