Bob Huggins To Be Inducted Into HOF

Recommended Posts

Being a retired firefighter/paramedic I have very little patience or feelings for people who get behind the wheel crap faced. Some may disagree with me, it’s nothing personal. I just have a different perspective.

Even more so today with all of the transportation options available.  He also has the resources and connections to get any ride he wants.  It's inexcusable.

So, who does WVU target?….

Might go interim this year and have a full season to find the successor. I hope not because that would put a certain head coach in the discussion for it if that head coach and team has the success that we all think they will have this season.

I'm pretty sure you don't have to worry.

I'll bet you a dollar WVU will be looking for someone with a successful track record in P5/P6 basketball.

Kind of doubt it; it's the off season and they have 4 months to get someone. Why make the players and recruiting process go through the extra transitioning.

WVU has become a mediocre program under Huggins. They can afford another mediocre season with an interim coach and take next off season to hire a new one.

The evidence Huggins left behind in terms of the condition of the vehicle and empty booze bottles at least hints to a larger personal problem. The last thing WVU needs is a drunk trying to right that program.

He has more money than he can ever spend and should quietly move to his retirement home and get himself together.

It all makes me wonder: 1) How many rides home did he get in Morgantown when found in a similar condition

At this point in his life he has horrible judgement and a lack of perspective about himself. With the millions of dollars he makes a year, he can afford to hire a daily limo to drive him from Morgantown to Pittsburgh to blow some money at the slots.

NFL players are now showing better judgement. Not that long ago during football season Tuesday morning was called Mug Shot Tuesday.  Since the NFL has a mandatory day off on Tuesdays, players used to go out on Monday night and get hammered then arrested on the way home, or hammered and end up in physical altercations with other drunks. This rarely happens anymore because all a player has to do is notify the team he is going out for the night in public and will need a ride and security. The NFL pays for an off duty police officer to pick up the player at his house and escort him around. WVU should have done this with Huggins.

Looks like he sat down an thought up 15 random names that popped into his head and made an article out of them.

Sometimes in life the best thing to do is nothing, and that's what the AD should do. Wait it out one season and let things play out. If he absolutely must make a decision right now, I would try and find a turn around artist. Former Kansas State and South Carolina and now UMASS coach Frank Martin is good at this. It takes him a couple of years, but he finds a high level of success after 3-4 years, but fizzles out quickly after that. The trick is to not do what South Carolina did and hold on to him too long. Martin is a tough disciplinarian and WVU has always had players who respond well to tough coaching. He would be a good fit.

Any coach that takes this job is going to need some sort of guarantee that this year doesn't count.

An interim coach this year makes 1000% more sense than a permanent hire.

Per CBS Sports

“Former West Virginia head coach Bob Huggins claims he never formally resigned from his position and wants to return to role, according to letter from his attorney.”

WVU administration showed a post from the account of Huggins wife June that announced he had resigned. Is that binding to him? I don't know. What we do know is that we have another Huggins mess that he created. I would welcome his departure if I were a WVU fan. Winning his way is not worth the cost and loss of dignity.

After he got in hot water for calling Xavier fans f*gs, and got suspended for it, he said something along the lines of, "I messed up and made a mistake, and I teach my players that they have to take accountability for their mistakes."

Then he VERY QUICKLY goes and does something far worse, or at least more dangerous, and is like, "Hey! Give me my job back!" Mannn, f**k all the way off. What a manchild and hypocrite.

He seems to want to make money on the court rather than return to office. Either way, he is not a very honourable man. My guess is that WVU will not reinstate him.
Hi all! 😀
