Game 7- Marshall

i'm not watching but I pulled up the score.  I can usually guess the score in my head and I thought to myself (22 - 8 Marshall ahead).  I was pretty close 25 -13.  Well, there's always Football.

As I said against Marshall we would have to put up points. This isn't a team that you can beat 65-60. Kinsey certainly has been able to use his size advantage on the wing to create separation. It would be nice having Dawson to guard him. Should be interesting to see how Groce adjusts.

The good old boy on color is a hoot.  Speaking about Hinter he mentioned how Groce mentioned how well he's shooting in practice he then went on to say he "can't shoot it where you could smell popcorn."

Marshall making a few circus shots. Zips hanging around but just aren't making shots.

Amani Lyles on that offensive possession from Marshall with 3 or 4 offensive rebounds...

 

 

 

Also, Marshall could probably get away with murder right now under the basket.

I hate the lineup Groce has in currently.  Not a shooter in the bunch and they cannot get a defensive rebound.

Yuck. Plenty of good looks have gone to waste. Defense got much better the last 10 minutes but a pretty unacceptable effort shooting the ball from everyone.

Weirdly though I'm kind of encouraged for the second half. Zips can't play much worse and Marshall couldn't play much better and it's still a 12-point game.

Dawson looks to be out of his walking boot.   Nice to see him making progress (okay, okay, I am trying to find something positive here).

 

Kinsey is as good as anyone the Zips have seen this year.

I'd probably say the same thing if that first half was my barometer of this team. Plus, Dawson hasn't missed a shot tonight.

X is having a really tough time shooting.  He has to be one of 10.  We again have missed a ton of shots.  Finally getting the ball into Freeman when he can score.  Hunter is trying to score inside.  However, he has missed several close shots.  He clanked another 3 pointer.  Great that he makes them in practice.  (LOL).

Wow. Marshall could get away with murder in the 1st half. Now they'd be charged with assault for getting a mint from their grandma's purse.

Hunter hesitates on an open 3-pointer then travels.  It's getting in his head.

Tavari started the 2nd half playing the point with X as the two guard.  The team looks better offensively with him in this position.  I think he will improve over time.  He looks to push the ball up court and gives us another outside shooter.
