If you were in a committed relationship and your girl was entertaining advances from other men how would you feel?

Turn the other cheek?

Did he entertain any of them?

Joe would be a moron not to take the interview. At the same time, the belief is he isn't expected to leave Akron. In addition, this is quite the selling point to recruits. "Our head coach and offensive guru is being targeted by an NFL team and Bama for OC positions."

Pieces of our staff leaving for "higher" positions is a great sign for the health of our football program. JoeMo has the ability to identify great young coaches, and current staff moving upward from Akron will be a bat signal for more great, young minds to come here and learn under JoeMo while he's here.

Side note. Josh Gattis was just let go by Miami FL as their OC. Someone made the point that Mario Cristobal has had 3 OCs not succeed with him as head coach, all of whom are considered some of the brightest offensive minds in the game (Moorhead, Gattis - who is JoeMo's protégé - and I forget the 3rd) and had tons of previous success. The U is in trouble.

Agree about JoeMo. I honestly can’t see him leaving for another OC job unless it was an NFL gig he really desired. I expect when this year’s team surprises all the college football “experts” his name will be tossed out there again for P5 HC opportunities.

Miami is intriguing. They are actually one I’m watching. I don’t feel any particular way about Cristobal, but he has made some interesting moves. It seems to me that regardless of who the players or coaches are, if they aren’t a good fit he is sending them packing. He has a top 10 recruiting class coming in and is in a division that is up for grabs each year.

I think Akron fans just aren't use to other programs wanting out coaches/assistants in football.

Eh, while nobody from Bowden left that I recall (probably because they were just coasting to the end of their careers), even Arth had multiple guys move up. One guy to the Packers, one to the Chargers, one to Tulsa, and one to Michigan State off the top off my head.

If that relationship was a 4 or 5 year contract, and my current contract was a 5.5/10 while my next relationship could be an 8 or 9 out of 10, I'd be an idiot not to look towards the future.

I would be an idiot not to know my worth and speak up and call out sh!t as I see it.

Thats the problem with our program. Too many in our fanbase are fine with be played and stepped over instead of being all in and demanding RESPECT.

Would you rather Akron have a coach that wasn't getting interest? Akron could always hire Arth back....

I've always been told to take interviews if it was a step up because it's another way to network and get your vision and what you're about to other people in your profession/industry. You never know who you might have the chance to work for/with in a few years.

I say we fire Moorhead and tell the next coach he’s never allowed to interview for another position. That’s the secret to success and will have candidates lining up out the door. Another happy day in the football forums!

I felt pretty good that Joe would turn down any overtures from the collegiate level. But the NFL is a different animal. Baltimore is only a 4 hour-ish drive from home/Pittsburgh.

Timing couldn’t be worse. Hope it’s all just rumors. We need Joe, and stability for the next couple seasons. Once we’re on stable ground, if Joe wants to move on, I’d feel more confident we could hire a solid replacement and keep things rolling.

Tomorrow will be interesting…

I rather have a coach that is not 2 faced and stands by what he says. Getting interest from whoever ain't the issue. If he is going into folks living rooms pitching his program to kids while accepting job interviews elsewhere = thats some bullsh!t he deserves to get called out by us on. Commit 100% especially after Year 1 or move the hell on.

I live in Raven's country just 15 minutes south of Baltimore.

All i can say is folks here are talking but nothing confirmed by any major outlets.

It’s not really an apples to apples comparison. Baltimore OC was not an option when he took the HC job at Akron. It doesn’t sound like he’s showing any interest in another college job. If he hasn’t interviewed for an NFL position before, this could be beneficial for him if he has a desire to coach at the pro level at some point in his career. Maybe he turns down the interview, maybe not. Either way, all he has done so far is improve this football program. If he were to leave he would be leaving a roster in much better shape than he found it.

I think any roster improvements can dissipate quickly in the era of the transfer portal. With that said, there are two links to Joe interviewing for the OC job - a deleted tweet and an article from nfltraderumors.co. That isn't exactly what I'd consider credible.

True. I would hope if a new coach were to take place he wouldn’t lose the amount of talent level back to the end of 2021. Anything can happen though. I doubt JoeMo leaves, but then again I don’t know his aspirations as a coach.

The Ravens with a healthy Lamar are a legit Superbowl contender. They were a goal line fumble away from knocking off Cincy despite playing their QB2. One would think they'd want to go with someone with proven NFL success to fill the vacancy.

Even if he did take an interview, I'd think he is a long shot for the position

Makes me sick to my stomach he's not going to be a Zip.

Just watching him against Massillon at Info thinking man how did we let this kid out of the city limits let alone to somewhere like Buffalo, easily one of the best RBs I have ever seen in HS

If only someone in the media would ask Joe what the deal was with him. Instead, we have a city full of people that simply think UA is dumb for “not recruiting” him when nobody has been told what happened.

Will he be a rare Hoban guy to live up to the hype? Time will tell.

I don't think Joe is allowed to comment on that anyway

Speaking of Hoban guys and not living up to the hype, I randomly saw a tweet from Brayden Fox (I believe the Brayden Fox from Hoban) who originally signed with Rutgers and then transferred to Toledo. He isn't on Toledo's roster anymore and appears to be in Arizona and started some media business.

Both Toledo & KSUcks have beaten us to the punch on junior RB Caleb Jones. Jones was Lamar's backup this year. He's VERY good. If he wasn't stuck behind Ohio's Mr. Football he'd have been one of the top RB's in the state.  Watch for this dude to blow up next season.

In fact, the only player from the tweet below who has seemingly recorded a single stat in their first 2 years in FBS football is Darryl Peterson.
