So there will still be some GT types that go the distance. Just not full recruiting classes like before. I agree that this makes maintaining a culture far more difficult. I'm curious how much of our high school recruiting strategy is based on making contact with players who we know are not going to come to Akron out of high school, but will potentially be in the portal in a year or two and we want them to already be familiar with Akron.

ClevelandZip
Jalen Sullinger to Furman University. Really scratching my head at this one.

Greenville, SC, definitely smells better. Love this. Pinky and PCCC have to be sweating a bit.
clarkwgriswold
Hard to pass up a chance to be a Paladin (what the hell is a paldain?). Maybe they offered his uncle a bench job. According to Wikipedia, The Paladins, also called the Twelve Peers, are twelve legendary knights, the foremost members of Charlemagne's court in the 8th century. 1
LZIp
Looks like Bowen Hartman from OSU has committed to us. Didn’t play much, but shot 44% from 3 last season.
Let'sGoZips94
Pure sniper. Very natural, quick release. Absolutely huge get to complete the puzzle. We have our team. On paper, it's the best in the MAC.
Illini Zip
Sniper yes, but he’s not 7 foot. I protest!! I kid. Very good. I will update the scholarship chart on Monday.
tpsjugglerdude
Sounds like a great pick up! 11 of 25 from 3 is a small sample size, but I’ll gladly take a 44% three point shooter

Illini Zip
I’ll tell you what makes me all warm inside. Improved shooting from deep gives the MAC refs less opportunity to manage the game. Oh, don’t get me wrong they will try…but they will fail.
72 Roo
I agree that Hardman is a good addition. It will take him time to learn what Groce's defense is all about. Still Groce would not have recruited him if he didn't think Bowen could learn to play defense the way we he coaches. I also agree with fellow posters who want another big. That is absolutely essential if we are going to into the second round of playoffs as Bud has stated as our goal. Keep the program progressing. clarkwgriswold
I've been watching some of the NFL draft and the portal is showing up there in that there are a number of players whose highlights are from more that one team. Just saw a DB who had highlights playing for Alabama and Oregon.
zipsrowdy88
When would we ever complain about more shooting? Does anyone have that scholarship chart handy?

Remember Paladin was a hired gun and I'm sure Jalen received more NIL from Furman than Kent was willing to pay.
akzipper
So in a rebuilding year the Zips added two transfers from WVU, one from NC, one from OSU and another from Cornell. While also bringing in the top high school basketball player in the state of West Virginia? I'm so ready for this.
