Unfortunately, I feel like there is no way Norton comes back. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see it. He'll get a really good NIL deal from somewhere and Akron can't afford him. I'll go with 5-7. The Zips had a really good win last night, but that's short term. If the Zips played as well last night against top tier mac schools, they would be going to a bowl, but Kent has a way of making teams look better than they are. Beating a team that might be the worst team in all of division 1 (including FCS) that we were double digit favorites against doesn't really mean much. Coming up a 7-4 Toledo team that just got beat by one of the 2 best teams in the MAC. They are in a bowl game. Don't know what their attitude will be on Tuesday. If you can beat them that might change the equation for what happens the next day. But, a sign of progress would be beating a really good MAC team, finally. Stay tuned. His body language and effort screamed that he was headed out the door. By comparison, Norton is balling-out. He's had zero drop in production or effort over the last few games. That gives me a little hope that he might stick around if Joe was here in 2025 (which I believe he will be). Hard to say how motivated either team will be. If we had beaten a Buffalo and one of BG/WMU/NIU we could be playing for a bowl game ourselves.
