clarkwgriswold
The Zips open the home MAC schedule Tuesday with Central Michigan. The Chipps are 6-6 heading into their MAC opener tonight with Ohio U. 6'6" senior guard/forward Jakobi Heady, a Bethune-Cookman transfer, leads the Chipps in scoring (13.2 ppg) and rebounding (6.7 rpg). 6'10" junior forward, Cal Bakersfield transfer, Ugnius Jarusevicius is second on the team in scoring and rebounding at 12.7 ppg and 6.1 rpg. Anthony Pritchard, last year's Mid-American Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Year and All-MAC first teamer also returns, and is averaging 12.3 ppg and 3.8 rpg . Pritchard, who led the team in points and assists per game last season, has been named to the preseason All-MAC first team. The Chipps returned 4 players from last year's squad and were picked 8th in the MAC preseason poll.
Blue & Gold
I'm going. Bringing some friends. Hate to admit it but this will be my first time in the JAR this season.
Let'sGoZips94
CMU loses by 2 to OU. Ugly game by the looks of it. 57-55. Did Charlie Coles' ghost coach both teams?
AkronAlumnus
Excited for the game tonight!! I think CMU has one of the better rosters in the very down-bad MAC but I like Akron at -8.5 Edited January 7 by AkronAlumnus Added the words "very down-bad"

MDZip
At this point I want all of points to come from three pointers.
Let'sGoZips94
Seth Wilson is shooting it well tonight. Love it! Decent first half. Defense needs some tweaking but I like where we're at!
LZIp
Love to see Okonkwo continue to play good minutes. Wilson starting tonight seemed like another odd coaching choice, but looks like they knew something. Hope he keeps that shot.
MDZip
42 of 52 points on threes so far.

Illini Zip
The surprise stat of the night has to be that the 18 made threes was five short of the number of times Reghi said “respite”.
Illini Zip
Great game. I was afraid to say anything during the game. I didn’t want to jinx the good shooting night. Go Zips!!
RoyalBlu
Look around the league tonight ... every game was in the 80s and 90s. Lots or scoring and lots of 3-point shooting. If nobody in the MAC is going to play any defense, Zips sure look better than most at the 3-point game. Even Buffalo, bad as they are, puts up a lot of points almost every game. NWAkron
For a non-student night, the crowd was having a good time. Not much to say other than we need to buckle up and accept it's live and die by the 3 for this season.
Zippy87
Seth Wilson! Listen, I've been highly critical of him but man did he look great tonight. If he can keep shooting it like that and playing good defense, he may pay off after all. Okonkwo was super active tonight...really did a great job of doing the dirty work in the paint. And Sharron Young...that kid is going to be special. Hopefully he'll stay in Akron because he's going to be a helluva player.
Reslife4Life
What a great night at the jar! One might say we were “on fire” The limited student section was great. Time to take care of business at EMU 2
Reslife4Life
We shot 41 threes, making 18 which comes to shooting 43.9% from deep. The MAC team that shot the second most last night was NIU with 27, making only 7 of them

Zips Win!
So, who likes the new offense hoisting 41 three pointers up? Are all of these attempts considered good shots? What defines a good shot in the flow of the offense? I'm up for a good discussion on this...
