zippy5 Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 It's gonna be great giving these douches their first loss 2 Quote
MDZip Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 How is Miami not #1 is Kenpom luck? F these guys next week. I want the Zips to meet them in the final and beat them like they're a departing NIU. 1 Quote
Zippy87 Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 Suder's arm fully extended as he plowed over the defender and they call a block. Embarrassing stuff from this crew. 1 Quote
kreed5120 Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 Something worth noting they had Kirby in late in OT instead of Skaljac. Not sure if it was injury related, but Skaljac clearly looked off. 1 Quote

Zippy87 Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 Miami finishes the season with three straight two-point wins. Akron finishes the season with three straight double-digit wins. I like the way this is trending. 2 Quote
Let'sGoZips94 Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 The last team I remember seeing do something like this in a regular season rivalry game ended up losing to their rival by 20 pts in the MAC Final. This year, Miami OH and Akron are rivals. Get. To. Saturday. 1 Quote
Let'sGoZips94 Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 41-25 FTA advantage for Miami OH. If I'm not mistaken, that gives them a +125 FTA advantage in the MAC this year. +107 at home, +18 on the road. Quote
Illini Zip Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 Didn’t watch the game, but I’m surprised the MAC allowed an undefeated season. But perhaps that’s the result they wanted as has been speculated on here before. That free throw advantage is significant as the away team. Just saying. Quote
NWAkron Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 Zips jump from 56 to 52 in NET rankings. Akron 60 in KP. That other team is 53 and 90 disrespectively. 1 Quote

I thought the same thing. Then, on the other end, he jumped (not straight up) into the offensive player who was shooting and there was no call. The MAC badly wanted Miami undefeated. Quote

I came here to post this exact thing. Instead, I will share that after reviewing our season results, I see that nearly every victory except for Eastern Michigan on the road was a double digit beat down, and we lost two single possession games. The other school has been scraping by on close victories all season. Their time is coming. 1 Quote

I doubt the mac commissioner has instructed the refs to help them win. Quote

kreed5120 Posted March 8 Report Posted March 8 (edited) There is also no such thing as MAC refs. The guy ref'ing an Akron/CMU game on a Tuesday night can spend the night in a hotel and make a two hour drive to Columbus the next day to work the OSU/MSU game. MAC pay isn't really great in comparison to the B1G. No ref is going to risk their career fixing games for Miami. Edit: I should say unless they are involved in illicit gambling rings. Illini Zip Posted March 8 Report Posted March 8 (edited) I’ll wear the conspiratorial scarlet letter until I get an explanation that satisfies me. For example, last night was the first home game that felt like a home game during conference play. Scott even got away with a blatant push off. That never happens. The result, Akron was allowed to finally get into rhythm offensively and shocker they blew out a bad team by 40 points. It helped that NIU couldn’t hit a shot to save their lives, but still. Something is not on the level. Edit: Because we do get home court advantage during the non-conference. Edited March 8 by Illini Zip Quote
Let'sGoZips94 Posted March 8 Report Posted March 8 (edited) TOS to Balls Edit: Sorry @NWAkron. Didn't see you posted this to the Balls thread. Edited March 8 by Let'sGoZips94 1 Quote

I thought I saw an arm extension. And the announcers saw it my way. But you could be right. It was an impressive step-back move regardless. Quote

Suder had zero intentions of attempting to score. In fact, he held onto the ball like a football and used his off arm as a stiff arm. It is a very clear arm extension and this is his game. He plays guard like Mike Alstott and cries when he doesn't get the call. At the very least, this should've been a no call and a turnover. 1 Quote
HoopsFan03 Posted March 8 Report Posted March 8 I was referring to the Shammah play. Refs got it right. Quote

I'm so used to arguing to Sweaters right now, I saw "no push off" and immediately went on the attack haha. My apologies my friend! clarkwgriswold Posted March 8 Report Posted March 8 Michael Lewis (Ball State) and Rashon Burno (NIU) both out. I really thought Michael Lewis had a chance to build something at Ball State but it was all downhill after year 1. Burno was completely checked out Friday. Quote
clarkwgriswold Posted March 8 Report Posted March 8 Now there are reports that Stan Heath is out at EMU. Quote
LZIp Posted March 8 Report Posted March 8 Nolan Smith (former Duke player) at Tennessee State would be an outstanding hire for any of these programs. What he did this year was pretty remarkable. Quote
