1981 grad Posted February 18 Report Posted February 18 I always wondered what pursuaded Tavari to stay at Akron after putting his name in the portal and the annoucers indicated it was only for half a day and the coaching staff told him he needs to think about what he was losing. He then stayed with Akron. Like these announcers. Best yet. 4 Quote

clarkwgriswold Posted February 18 Author Report Posted February 18 Pretty inconsistent performance from the Zips tonight. 1 Quote
UAZippers Posted February 18 Report Posted February 18 Just can't buy a shot this half. They've had some really good ones too. Quote
Reslife4Life Posted February 18 Report Posted February 18 Just make a few more buckets and it’s over. The shot selection isn’t great to close out the game Quote
clarkwgriswold Posted February 18 Author Report Posted February 18 I love the Zips. I like it when they are praised. These guys are over the top. Quote

If he was offered something similar to Nate I have to imagine he'd be gone as well. You even see it in the NBA. Trae Young was one of the hottest young names in the NBA a handful of years ago. He gets traded for a salary dump. Garland, in the prime of his career, was just traded for someone who has maybe 2-3 years left in the tank. Edit: Akron may or may not have offered him the largest sum. Even if someone offered him more than what Akron did the delta between the two probably wasn't a life changing difference amount to be worth his while. Edited February 18 by kreed5120 Quote

kreed5120 Posted yesterday at 05:53 PM Report Posted yesterday at 05:53 PM TBF Burno wasn't really canned. His contract expired and NIU elected to not renew. Firing and paying a buyout would require them at least pretending to care about their program. They instead treat it like an Olympic sport. Quote

I love the men's soccer program and they've had great success, But when you win your conference title 12 times in 13 years, and have sent a number of swimmers to the NCAA meets over that time I might have to lean towards swimming as well. Men's soccer has had similar in conference success and national level success in out of conference games and the NCAAT. Has the swim team consistently been placing in the Top 25 nationally? The Top 10 at all? That's a legit question. I don't know. If not, I still favor the soccer team, but what a great problem to have...too much winning. :D 1 Quote
