Totally lost composure, but at least someone is showing that they are pissed off and frustrated by this train wreck of a team. They just march in and march out with no emotion every freaking week. If he never wore a zip’s uniform again all the other players would be so jealous. 😂 I saw two punches after pursuing the kid. He may have found a way out! Quote

clarkwgriswold Posted 5 hours ago Report Posted 5 hours ago It's made a little more special by the fact that they were led by a kid that played 38 miles from UA yet probably never got a sniff while the Zips staked their season on a guy that was never clearly eligible. Quote

LZIp Posted 4 hours ago Report Posted 4 hours ago (edited) Took the kids to the zoo today and didn’t get back til about 10 minutes left in the 4th quarter and turned it off with about 6 minutes left out of frustration. In that time, I saw multiple Kent TDs, an interception, the worst fake punt I’ve seen in my life, 3 pass interference calls, and a fumbled kickoff recovered by Kent. Also pretty inexplicable play calling by Joe Mo (3 straight passes for a 3 and out when the running game was gettting 5+ YPC the drive before. Hate to say it, but I think I’m out on Akron football until something changes. I don’t think Joe is HC material in this era of NCAA sports, but also not naive enough to think anything changes regardless of who the coach is unless we actually invest in the program in ways that matter. Dire situation. Edited 4 hours ago by LZIp 3 Quote

Dire situation. Pretty much my thoughts for the last 2-3 years. Edit: I was a bit more invested than usual this year as the viral promotion actually got me interested for a bit. Along with the false hope that we could build off of last year and at least be watchable in what's a pathetic MAC. Either way I'm glad you got to enjoy time with your family. It was a better 3 hours spent. Edited 4 hours ago by kreed5120 1 Quote

zvillezip Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago Every week the team makes the same mistakes. Pass interference penalties. False start penalties. Personal fouls. Missed assignments. Burning timeouts due to late play calls and wrong personnel packages. There is no discipline. This falls squarely on the coaches. Joe Mo may have been a good offensive coordinator in the past but he has been abysmal at Akron. Bottom line is that he is not head coaching material. Hopefully he takes a job elsewhere this offseason and Akron will reset, again. 1 Quote

ZippyDoo Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago players could have built some momentum or at least a moment if they won that game today. Moorehead threw in the towel quit on them and wants out. 3 timeouts down by four running the ball all over them, that fake punt was the white flag saying i want out... he quit on this team. they probably won't win another game this year. the players didn't deserve this. ZippyDoo Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago i said the same exact thing about the end of the half ... kent wasn't doing chickenshit stuff like that they were actually playing to win... why not try to make passes or try to get into field goal territory? try anything to get some points before half show some life. run the ball walk into half blah blah blah no life who cares no life no emotion Quote

kreed5120 Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago (edited) A lot of things to complain about, but I don't feel that's one of them. Realistically what yard line would have we had to get there to give our field goal kicker, who already missed a chip shot, a realistic chance? 30 seconds and no timeouts doesn't give you much wiggle room. Odds are far greater you turn the ball over trying to force something down field and give Kent a chance at a last second field goal. Edit: If there was a minute or more on the clock or we had timeouts left I would have been more inclined to push the needle. Edited 2 hours ago by kreed5120 Quote
