The YSU Penguins come the JAR Tuesday night.  This is the second year of a two year exhibition series with YSU.  Hopefully we'll get some fans there as the proceeds are intended to benefit the NIL fund.

Not really sure how much this will help the NIL fund. If you renewed, tickets to this game came with your season ticket package. Outside of the ~100 YSU fans that might make the trip I don't think many tickets will unfortunately get sold.

 

I still haven't received any parking passes yet for the regular season. Have any of you?

Stoked that this is on ESPN+. Can't wait to see what this team looks like in action, even in an exhibition.

No parking pass here yet either. I would say if you don't receive them by tomorrow, the safe bet is to park in the deck and walk. They aren't gonna ticket you in the deck.

I've seen it listed as ESPN+ on our schedule page but I don't see it listed on ESPN+. Plus, we don't broadcast non-D1 regular season games on ESPN+ so it seems strange that an exhibition would be even if it is against a D1 team. I guess we'll see.

I went to the gam eat YSU last year and it was very competitive and a great opportunity to see the new guys in action.

I plan to attend. I hope for a good turnout, but if not I hope they at least allow the devoted fans that show up to move to the lower bowl to create a slightly better atmosphere.

I emailed the ticket office and they said there's a delay with the parking passes. They said if you have a Lot 2 pass, they'll be sending out an email with instructions later today. If you have a Lot 1 pass (deck), you can just park there without a pass for tomorrow.

I think so. Always thought it was strange they gave me a parking pass for it considering there's no one there collecting money for it. 😅

Once upon a time there used to be someone standing there. Think it ended around the time they leased out the parking garage.

Yeah, I remember parking in random spots on campus where I knew I could avoid a ticket. I didn't have season tickets at the time, so I didn't have a parking pass but didn't want to pay the $10 or whatever it was to park in the deck.

Unless there's some competitive advantage with not having scrimmage tape out there, the University should stream it on YouTube.

I think it's more to do with cost. Although, a lower production level for YouTube would minimize cost. I just know there's significant cost associated with producing a broadcast at the level required for ESPN+. That's why the non D1 games are only broadcast on GoZips.com. Less cost for the lower production quality.

Pay a student $40 for the game to operate the camera, tell them to just follow the ball to each side of the court, give them free concessions at the half, and make it happen. I don't need a score bug for an exhibition.

We used to not get public exhibitions at all. I personally don't mind it as a pay to see only event if it helps drive a little extra foot traffic to the JAR.

I knew there was no gatekeeper the past few years, but I didn't realize they left the decks completely unattended. There have been times my wife and I had to drive separately to the game, but we only have 1 pass so I'd park at Manny's or somewhere and walk to the JAR while she took the parking pass. I would have thought a parking Nazi would do at least 1 round throughout the game writing people tickets that didn't have passes on their mirror.
