I don't know if this is true. Lack of opportunity for whatever reason, but Harris shot 42% from 3 in conference play (50% overall from the field) and Wilson is a 35%+ 3P shooter.
These guys aren't facing Big 12 competition on a regular basis anymore, and Groce has a proven track record of getting guys into positions to succeed. It might be a slower start due to chemistry issues, but come March I think we'll be one of the strongest Zips teams Groce has had yet.
Young/Tavari
Wilson/Scott
Nate/Prather
Harris/Baker/MMK
Okonkwo/Lyles
Redshirts: Brisco, Mahafey
See y'all on Selection Sunday while we await our 11/6 matchup.
A few WVU fans on Twitter are interested in coming to Akron games next year. They love that these 3 are teaming back up at Akron along with Sharron Young.
In all seriousness, Josiah Harris is exactly the missing piece we needed after the first 2 transfer commitments.
MASSIVE OFF SEASON!!!!!! LET'S GO ZIPS!!!!
Safe to assume Jalen Sullinger isn't returning? This kid is 5'11" and played a lot as a freshman - 33 games, 22 minutes per game. 35.7% 3P and 79.2% FT. Looks a lot like Sullinger's replacement.
This is the sense I get as well. He could be the next great MAC guard. That's why I think it's so important to land these WVU recruits. Coach Rob is a West Virginia icon for recruiting with his roots being Huntington Prep. Make Akron feel like home and hopefully we keep him for more than 1 year.
That looks so good already with one scholly left. Wow. Obviously guys like Prather, Nate, Tavari, and Scott need to take the next steps, but this roster is so much better already with those 2 P5 additions.
