Substitute Akron for Toledo and BGSU (or maybe Kent now) for Ohio.

I think it's probably a culmination of many things that is effecting these players emotionally. But as to the fouling, as bad as Toledo is they're not even the worst offender. If the MAC really, truly wanted to get control of the rediculous fouling issue (I'm all for strong, straight-up physical defense) they would foul guys out regardless of circumstance early into conference play each and every year. Even if it's the first half and a team's best player, it shouldn't matter. Send him to the bench early. The coaches and players will be forced to adjust their approach. But I think the MAC likes the bumping and hacking because it allows the bottom half of the league to stay in games with the top half. If these games were called even close to legitimately I believe Akron blows some teams out by 30-40 points and we have a much better NET ranking. The crap that really bothers me is when the officials in a sense "move the strike zone" mid-game. You play the first 30 minutes of the game with a loose whistle and then out of nowhere they call fouls for breathing on a guy. You can say that the Zips were soft and careless with the ball against the Buffalo press late in that game. Groce believed so. But I'm watching foul after foul by Buffalo not being called as well. We say at times that "the refs have lost control of a game". Watching this video I have to wonder if the refs are losing control of the league. Edit: One can say "who cares" because we are still winning games. But remember that margin of victory affects NET rankings and NET rankings affects seeding in the NCAA Tournament. And I'm tired of getting crushed by the likes of Arizona in the first round.

We need to root for Ohio on Tuesday. Very real scenario where Miami OH's side of the bracket becomes Buffalo in the quarters and either Toledo or Ohio in semis. Akron would play CMU in the quarters and either Kent or BG in the semis. A Miami OH vs Ohio and Akron vs Kent semifinal would be the best case scenario for the MAC.

Or when AD is done interviewing with Syracuse.

Toledo goes to Athen and beats Ohio 79-67.

The injury occurred when they were pressing with less than a minute left and they were down by 12. Can anybody spell stupid.

For me it's not that I'd be concerned with losing to UMass (although anything is possible in single elimination tournaments). It's more that having to win 3 games in 3 days requires being able to recover quickly. The bumps and bruises we take on Thursday can have an impact on Friday or Saturday.

I was curious of how the order would go if there's a three way tie but didn't bother to figure out the three-way tiebreaker. Thanks for posting. There's a very real chance they all finish 7-11, so according to the above post, we'd play UMass which I don't love. They appear to stink but they also seem to lose a lot of close games so maybe they're just unlucky?

Bulls are currently the #8 seed despite the loss.

If UMass, CMU, and Buffalo all finished tied, they would get the 7, 8, and 9 seeds, respectively. UMass at Ohio on Tuesday will have an impact on who we end up playing in the 1st round.

Also I wouldn’t be surprised if ball state somehow sneaks into the tournament. They play @niu, @wmu, and vs CMU who has won one road game all year

If Buffalo (who might be without Frietag) and UMass (play OU) lose CMU losing to us shouldn't matter.

Don’t want to take anything away from CMU, but if we could play them in the first round and Miami has to battle Buffalo for a third time and Umass not in it at all. Thats a great scenario, but with us playing CMU on Tuesday I don’t think this will stay

As things currently stand, UMass is on the outside looking in. Buffalo also slipped up today at home against CMU. Bracket is updated as of 4 PM.

Wow, CMU is up by 9 on Buffalo with 2:30 left. The game is in Buffalo too. This would knock the bulls out of the mac tournament picture

If CMU loses today, they would be eliminated from MAC Tournament contention and the game would likely be much easier for us. However, they're currently up 8 with about 4 minutes left. UMass is losing too, which would create a three-way tie for 7th through 9th. Three teams for the final two spots.

Looking at the schedule. UMass might not make it to Cleveland.
