I agree with just about everything here, but I think he has to at least be considering Butler if it is offered to him. The fact that we have had zero players publicly commit to Akron next year OR enter the transfer portal tells me they're all waiting to hear if he will be the coach or not. I don't think he'd leave for just anywhere, but he has several ties to Butler. He grew up in Indiana, he was an Assistant Coach at Butler, and was an Assistant Coach for Thad Matta in three different spots (Butler, Xavier, Ohio State) over an 8 year span. And Matta is reportedly part of the process in identifying their next coach.

If Groce had won an NCAAT game or two, I'd be concerned. At this point though, I am sure he appreciates what he has going and the stability it brings his family. He's done the P4 thing already and knows what that's like. I don't think it's worth his leaving at this point to get another high mid-major position either. The days of mid-majors going to the Sweet 16 are pretty much over, and the last two NCAATs provide data to this point. So, why would he leave? He can do all of that here.

If we want to get middle school attendance, how about a 6-7 one with a bowl loss?
-
What if I offered you a 4-5 Zips team!
-
Well yeah, I'm also hoping the team continues to improve now that they can practice fully.
-
No. They're both Tuesday.
-
Help me out here. Are the last two games optional to be on a week night or Saturday?
-
I think you're more optimistic than me on how many fans would show up on a cold, rainy Saturday in November to watch a 3-6 Zips team.

Whenever a MAC team doesn't have to play Sac State, that season should be referred to as a gelding.
-
The work the AD's office did to get 8000ish there for the midweek Kent game gives me hope that...despite this awful schedule...those numbrs will imrpove this year.
-
Hey that would be like 5% of the total attendance that day!
-
#MACtion 😁
-
So those 32 kids that go to the games will miss it??
-
Fair. The MAC has some work to do on the next TV deal, because the dollars they're getting for this midweek stuff can only barely offset the losses from this kind of schedule.
-
What's most interesting is that EMU and Sac State will be playing week 0. I imagine that was the only way the schedule makers could probably make things work given their late add.
-
Hopefully air travel sanity will return by then.

Umass having to travel to Sac State is wild
