  1. Past hour
  2. I agree with just about everything here, but I think he has to at least be considering Butler if it is offered to him. The fact that we have had zero players publicly commit to Akron next year OR enter the transfer portal tells me they're all waiting to hear if he will be the coach or not. I don't think he'd leave for just anywhere, but he has several ties to Butler. He grew up in Indiana, he was an Assistant Coach at Butler, and was an Assistant Coach for Thad Matta in three different spots (Butler, Xavier, Ohio State) over an 8 year span. And Matta is reportedly part of the process in identifying their next coach.
  3. If Groce had won an NCAAT game or two, I'd be concerned. At this point though, I am sure he appreciates what he has going and the stability it brings his family. He's done the P4 thing already and knows what that's like. I don't think it's worth his leaving at this point to get another high mid-major position either. The days of mid-majors going to the Sweet 16 are pretty much over, and the last two NCAATs provide data to this point. So, why would he leave? He can do all of that here.
  4. If we want to get middle school attendance, how about a 6-7 one with a bowl loss?
  5. So John's next endeavor is DePaul? Check flights from CAK to Aurora?
  6. I obviously have no idea, but it appears the same person posting on that forum as an insider posted this on Twitter.
  7. What if I offered you a 4-5 Zips team!
  8. Well yeah, I'm also hoping the team continues to improve now that they can practice fully.
  9. No. They're both Tuesday.
  10. According to Butler's fan forum, Holtmann interviewed yesterday, Shrews interviews today and it sounds like those are the 2 favorites for the job.
  11. Help me out here. Are the last two games optional to be on a week night or Saturday?
  12. I think you're more optimistic than me on how many fans would show up on a cold, rainy Saturday in November to watch a 3-6 Zips team.
  13. This looks like a Senderoff hostage video. Some Butler fans on X are pointing out he gave a similar speech in 2017 before leaving for Ohio State 48 hours later. Still, interesting timing.
  14. Today
  15. Whenever a MAC team doesn't have to play Sac State, that season should be referred to as a gelding.
  16. The work the AD's office did to get 8000ish there for the midweek Kent game gives me hope that...despite this awful schedule...those numbrs will imrpove this year.
  17. It's weird because it's not code AUZ on FlightAware - it's ARR which is a muni airport west of Chicago (Aurora). Same airport, though, that has 3 different codes. https://www.flightaware.com/live/flight/N536JA/history/20260324/0200Z/KARR/KTYQ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aurora_Municipal_Airport
  18. I don't see any record of this flight recently. Maybe I'm missing it? N536JA Flight Tracking and History - FlightAware https://share.google/zTyXEa8NqbQFY7Sqr
  19. Hey that would be like 5% of the total attendance that day!
  20. #MACtion 😁
  21. Holtmann's name popping up so late in this process gives me real hope he's the guy. Would make sense for all parties involved, too.
  22. So those 32 kids that go to the games will miss it??
  23. Fair. The MAC has some work to do on the next TV deal, because the dollars they're getting for this midweek stuff can only barely offset the losses from this kind of schedule.
  24. What's most interesting is that EMU and Sac State will be playing week 0. I imagine that was the only way the schedule makers could probably make things work given their late add.
  25. Hopefully air travel sanity will return by then.
  26. Umass having to travel to Sac State is wild
