probably way too much optimism, BUT, some factors this person took into consideration... this person is under the impression Poff is returning and is going to have a monster year, says so in the comments miami lost their starter qb ( we do play them relatively early that could be to our benefit this person is not an ohio or buffalo fan ( apparently buffalo had a huge turnover as did toledo when their coach left we SHOULD BEAT UMASS and KSUCKS so to get this the other conference we would need is CMU... he doesn't have us having any major upsets over the non conferences and the only major upset is miami and im sure if their qb was there he would not have picked us... all i know is that as of right now we are tied for first and i am excited and can't wait til next week to see what we have... at least i can enjoy the next week...

AKR 0-0 Army FT Army are fit and physical, not to mention large. They are disciplined and organized, as one might suspect. Zips could not unlock such a committed defense. The last pass, and the finishing, went begging. That is all. There is no reason for grave alarm right now. I do think Embick needs to get more players into his rotation, but that is a minor point. This was a hard-fought contest where none had the quality necessary to score. It was entertaining, nonetheless. But I am a football junkie, so... We will know more about this team come Friday.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Len. He played during an earlier era when many on this site were too young to follow the Zips or had not been born. He was an awesome basketball player, capable of taking over a game on his own. It could easily have been argued that when he played he was the best collegiate player in the state including what OSU and U Cinci had. In his later years he struggled with his health and the effects of bad habits. I saw him 2 years ago in Pittsburgh during our post season run and he did not look good. He was a humble man, yet on the court he was a giant. RIP my Zip friend.

This was just posted but when I look at the ticket map, it looks pretty normal to me. I understand trying to create urgency but it's obviously manufactured.

It's an inherent flaw of the game. There should only be 6 defensive (counting the goalie) and 5 offensive players on either half of the field.

nothing has been said publicly to say otherwise, even joe moe at the mac media said reese won the job... people on here have just heard that his eligibility is in question. some have even heard he didn't take any reps in either scrimmage or for the past couple weeks. first game is a week away so i guess we will find out soon enough

It's about that time...time to start talking about the Zips upcoming opponent. I will be traveling to Winston-Salem for the game. What the heck...it should be good weather and a great time. We'll hit Asheville for an extended weekend afterwards. Will my trip to Lourdes France bring the miracle we need to get Poffenbarger eligible, or has the Cibastian Broughton Era gotten off to an earlier-than-expected start?
