  1. Today
  2. Interesting list. A lot of those teams have turned things around to say the least.
  3. Who ever did that list must of over looked the MAC. Both Kent and Eastern should have made it with 608 and 630. There are probably others but i knew those two have been historically bad.
  4. Hey it could be worse https://www.yahoo.com/sports/article/20-college-football-programs-most-225502685.html
  5. I believe there is, but I won't be able to attend. 😡
  6. crazy that a school with such a successful men's program has a horrendous women's program.
  7. Every coach in the MAC voted ...that Akron would finish in last place. https://getsomemaction.com/news/2025/8/11/womens-soccer-western-michigan-selected-as-favorite-in-mac-preseason-coaches-poll.aspx
  8. Do they scrimmage again this Saturday?
  9. obviosly we werent available, since were playing in the Jack Jones classic in Las Vegas that day. Its actually quite a day of hoops. 4 games. UC San diego, Tulane, Arizona St, UNLV, Santa Clara, Tennessee St, Murray State and Akron.
  10. Man, I thought it felt like it was about time! 😂
  11. Yesterday
  12. A few boys might come up against a few men. This could be a good-tune up for a Zips' squad with many new faces.
  13. This will be an interesting match for the Zips. WV Tech is an NAIA school with 48 players on the roster, one is American. The rest are from all over the world and older than their school year peers.
  14. Ironically, according to archived stories on GoZips.com, last year the non-conference schedule was released on August 12th. And then the conference schedule was released on August 14th.
  15. This feels more useful than the Coaches poll that just copied the final rankings from last season. Also, interestingly, Akron is #30 (receiving votes) and this used to be a Top 30 poll until this year, as noted in their intro.
  16. When do we normally see the schedule released?
  17. He was here for Streamer University, incognito.
  18. Yes, Clark, has anyone see him on campus?
  19. Hmmmm, so our buddy Boals can get beat twice in Cleveland this season.
  20. Last week
  21. Swap out St. Bonnie with Cincinnati. Better still How about OSU-Cincy-Dayton/Xavier-MAC on a rotating basis. I'm guessing 'A' Ohio state university would not want to be in a pool with other Ohio universities ... unless the game is played in C-bus. So many state universities in Ohio to choose from, ... but I'm sure you know who I mean.
  22. https://collegesoccernews.com/college-soccer-news-mens-soccer-preseason-top-25-poll-marshall-takes-top-spot-going-into-week-1/ College soccer news has issued a pre season top 25.... they say that they have coaches voting in their poll. I am going from memory...but I will try to post teams from the zips schedule...that are ranked 2. Vermont 9. Ohio State 11. West Virginia 20. Western Michigan 23. Cornell Akron, of course, could meet #8 Georgetown in Big East tourney. Providence also received votes in the poll (another possibility for conference tourney) I am really surprised that St. Louis is not ranked as they had strong recruiting class.
  23. Imagine leaving paradise for Louisiana. I guess they're making her rich.
  24. Looks like the MAC will be the rotating piece in this, as we are the only team from last year's event not participating this year.
  25. I'm hopeful we can use this thread to track rankings and RPI as they change throughout the season rather than jumping around the forum to find them.
  26. In limited 2nd half action, Braxton Hayes did not seem to be pushing for a starting job in Exhibition #1. Disappointing. Hopefully, we shall see more of Hayes on Wednesday during exhibition #2.
  27. This article has no rankings...but top drawer soccer (TDS) ...did a Big East preview https://www.topdrawersoccer.com/article/?categoryId=21&articleId=54910&articleTitle=mens-a10-big-east-ivy-league-preview Big East Akron joining has done wonders for the strength of the Big East, adding another storied team to a conference full of legacy programs. The Zips and Georgetown will likely fight for supremacy, while Providence looks to continue its rise as an elite program. St. John’s and Connecticut, two programs desperate to reach the highs of the late 90s and early 2000s, are among the others to look out for this season. Top Players to Watch: Mitch Budler, Akron(m) (Goalkeeper of the Year) Top Freshmen to Watch: Braxton Hayes, Akron(m) (No. 116 Ranked TDS Class of 2025)
  28. I am excited to watch this team! I wish we could just skip football season and go straight into basketball season.
