  1. Today
  2. I think that the Zips alternate years on Big East Eastern Division opponents...(always play the 5 other teams in Big East Mid west and 3 games against Big East Eastern teams) in 2023, the Zips played Connecticut, St. John's and Seton Hall Those 3 teams have already released their 2025 schedules and the Zips play all 3 teams in 2025. In 2024, the Zips played Georgetown, Providence and Villanova. Villanova announced their schedule today and the Zips are not on their schedule. 3 big east Midwest teams ..(Xavier, Butler and Marquette) have released their schedules.... so....of the 10 games announced so far, 6 of the games are conference games. The 2 remaining Big East conference games....will be against Midwest foes Creighton and DePaul. I would anticipate that it will be a while before DePaul releases their schedule. DePaul had to announce a tragic event yesterday involving a player that started in 16 games for them last year. I am sure that all of us in the Akron zips soccer community want to extend our deepest sympathy to the family of this young man and to the coaches and the players of the DePaul Men's soccer community. https://depaulbluedemons.com/news/2025/6/2/athletics-depaul-university-mourns-the-loss-of-student-athlete-chase-stegall
  3. Also our big east conference games against the East Division do not appear to include Georgetown (3) or Providence (18)
  4. If opponents perform similar to last year, there are several Tier 1 RPI wins on the schedule. OSU(1) WMU(30) SLU (37) Cornell (25)were all top 30-ish RPI teams last season. Plus I’m sure a conference opponent or two will be high RPI rank. Big opportunities for the youthful Zips roster.
  5. Wow, no more complaining about the OOC schedule! 🤣
  6. i have a source who has contacts in the ticket office, and he told me that the upcoming schedule features a team playing in every game that won back to back conference tournaments and was undefeated at home last season.

  9. I see they raised general admission ticket prices. It's still not a bad value when you break it down by game. It comes out to ~$6-$7/game depending on how many home games there are.
  10. I think the UofA will appeal their academic status?
  11. I see you can buy basketball season tickets now. Of course they haven't posted a season schedule yet. 🙄
  12. Yesterday
  13. SPOILER alert! Just above the basketball.
  14. I'm pleased that the Nebraska game is at night. I'll be able to drive 3 hours; tailgate all afternoon; then enjoy the game. I have a room booked at the Marriot (tailgate central). Down town Lincoln is a fun place on game days. It's a short walk to the stadium. If you are planning a road trip this season, Nebraska would be a great choice.
  15. Good news is he has earned $7,918,665 so far in his career.
  16. Double post
  17. Last week
  18. Chris is 5-3 with the Jays, with a 3.80 ERA. He has 69 K’s to go with 15 walks in 12 starts. According to ESPN, J.T. hasn’t played since 2022 and is listed on the Yankees disabled list. He last played a regular season game was 2022 with the Pirates. He has a career 9-28 record with a 4.99 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, 324 SO, 109 BB, 328 hits, and 187 Runs, 175 Earned.
  19. Well, this is always an option…if we had any money…
  20. Good grief. It's worse than you described. The first game is at home on a Thursday night. Why do they make this mistake over and over again? This is the Thursday before Labor Day weekend. While it is true that many will take Friday off, but why rush them home from work to scramble to make a game that probably won't be over until after 11 PM? It would be better if people had time to prepare for a nice day with their family and friends at what could be a great day for the players, students, alumni, fans and general community around Akron. They can't start this game between noon and 4PM on Saturday? It's all so gross. Prime time games against Nebraska and UAB? These should be "get in and get out" games starting at noon. Players get home in time to have a fun Saturday night out. Akron only has three chances to start games on a day AND time that is convenient for people to attend games. I understand TV is hard to control, but they need to do everything they can to play these games when the sun is up for at least half the game. For the first time in over 15 years, I didn't buy Wake Forest football tickets. Its not about the money because the tickets are relatively cheap. I'm waiting to see when games start and then buy single game tickets for game I want to attend based up a sane starting time. The first game is on a Friday night. The third game is on a Thursday night against NC State. I've gone to games like this before and the fan experience isn't good. The small 27,000 seat stadium they have is half full and after halftime there are only around 5,000 remaining at best. People vote with their feet. College football shouldn't be this hard to be a fan of.
  21. Thanks for posting this. What these schools are doing is gross. It gets worse every time another story comes out. The solution isn't paying minors to maintain what may have been a bad decision made by a teenager. The solution is to prohibt schools from offering scholarships until January 1 of a players senior season. Further, no early graduation. Let's keep kids in high school until the normal cycle ends in May.
  22. Anybody know exactly what this alumni camp is?
  23. ZIPSWATCHER hasn't lost his ability to spot a former Zip. It took me at least a minute to find Serb even after Zipwatcher identified who I'm trying to find.
  24. He may not be as athletically gifted as some of the other DL we have, but he has a relentless motor. I bet he sees the field simply because of that. Usually guys like that have a great work ethic.
  25. The UConn Huskies will come to Akron on September 19th. This must be the first Big East game of 2025 https://uconnhuskies.com/sports/mens-soccer/schedule Friday, September 5: @ Ohio State Friday, September 19: vs. Connecticut * Tuesday, September 23: vs. St Louis Saturday, September 27: @ Butler* Friday, October 3: vs. St John’s* Tuesday, October 7: @ Cornell Saturday, October 25: at Xavier* Saturday, November 1: vs. Marquette*
  26. first 3 and last 3 games all at night, others TBD
