The ticket priority system of the Z Fund is a total joke. Season ticket holders are told if we increase our giving levels, we will be rewarded come tournament time with better seats. What a bunch of crap. Every year we are pushed further away from midcourt. People who used the 2 for 1 lottery deal had better seats than us. Our regular season tickets are in the lower level, yet last night we found ourselves off in a corner, dodging people who either had restless leg syndrome or the weakest bladders this side of 90. It's a simple fix. As a season ticket holder, If you sit at midcourt for regular season (and we do not) then you get the same number of seats come tournament time. Then you repeat the process until all of the "regulars" are assigned tickets. THEN, you go back and give out the Extra 10 seats to donors who want to take their second cousin's next door neighbor and his 6 kids. I know that this is my own fault for not buying tickets on my own, but I tried to be a loyal fan and do the right thing. Unless/until the Z Fund adjusts their allocation process, I am done going through the University for tickets.

This is going to be a tough game that will probably go down to the wire like almost all of our games. Stayed for the Kent-Ohio game and you have to be impressed with how Kent came back in the second half. In the first half they were shooting around 30% and 20% on the three ball. By the end of the game they were shooting around 40%. They are very athletic, quick, and played well down the stretch. I was very impressed with Hall. He played a lot of minutes, played really hard and scored most of his points in the second half. If Kent shoots the ball well, they will be tough. One of the keys to the game is how well we shoot the 3 ball. If we can shoot the 3 ball above 40% there is a great chance we win the tournament. Last night we played very smart basketball and did not force up any 3 balls and only shot 21 3 ball shots. Noah has done a great job of getting good shots and taking short jumpers instead of just shooting the 3. We shot over 50% from the field. I am hoping that Kwan can explode tonight for a great game and stay out of foul trouble. Hopefully, we can start hot like we did yesterday and force Kent to play catch up the entire night. Like to see Big Dog and Kwan leave as winners tonight for all their hard work the past 4 years. Go Zips!!

I think we'll need "that guy" tonight. The guy who's not usually a major contributor who steps up in the clutch with big plays. My thought is that Big Dog and "Where's My Laptop" Hall will cancel each other out and that the Flushes will be all over Kwan, even in transition, limiting his good looks. In the end, I see an Utomi or Josh Williams having a big game and putting the Zips over the top. Zips- 73, PCCC- 69,

100% agree. We are lower level season ticket holders for 20+ years with very strong connection to the university. Each year at the Q we our seats are embarrassingly bad. First two games at Q used travel zoo and were basically courtside. Tickets for tomorrow not as good but still much better than what Van Horn would give us. As for my awesome seats last night, they were less awesome when 3 "robust" inbred Kent fans sat in front of me. And three more of them to my left. Those people are strange.

It's not fair to say that Waters failed at CSU. He had good success when he started. He won a game or two at the tourney few years back and was always competitive in the horizon league and had a player drafted to the NBA. However, 3 years ago, he had his 3 top players mysteriously transfer to Michigan St. and Louisville. He couldn't rebound out of that. Those 3 kids killed his career.

Akron vs Kent State!!!!!!!!!!!

Three of my four kids are Akron fans. One roots for Kent (I don't know where I went wrong). Needless to say, I will only be bringing three of my kids. :-) It will be my 5 year-old's first MAC Championship game.

While all eyes are on the Q tonight for the MAC semis, I'm going to keep my left eye tuned to ESPN3 as they livecast today and tomorrow's NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Feild Championships from College Station TX. Our Zips have 5 competitors down there. In fact, in 45 minutes Jackie Seifring will be starting the Pentathalon with the 60 meter hurdles and the event is completed all in one day. She's ranked #4 in the nation coming in. Matt Ludwig will be trying to keep the Zip streak alive at the podium in the pole vault tonight as the #7 best in the country and teammate Terrell McClain, ranked 6th competes in the men's long jump. Women's high jump is tonight, with Nikki Manson, ranked #12 jumps, and Lucy Bryan completes the 5-some for Akron tomorrow in the women's pole vault as the 7th best in the nation. Pretty cool...Let's go Zips! Quick update - FYI, Only other MAC athletes are 2 throwers from Kent-State-Still-Sucks, 1 EMU distance runner and 1 Miami athlete. 5 ZIPS! I'm sorry now I did not take advantage of this today. My seats for these games keep getting worse, not to mention the foul, loudmouthed idiots in front of me until I moved. Why pay $34 for a ticket thru UA when you can get this deal and pretty much sit anywhere you want with thousands of seats empty for the early session? We probably could have moved into the prime school seats in the lower level anyway, considering that there looked to be a number of empty seats. I know a guy sitting near us with a young boy did.

Thad Matta has plateaued, and has been plateaued for some time now. His tournament appearances are like Dambrot's 21 win seasons - participation trophies. Not to mention he had the one big run to the Championship game and has progressively regressed year after year. It shouldn't be this hard to have more success at OSUcks. He also supposedly has some major health problems. Plus, if Senderoff is Mr. Pinky, Matta is Mr. Red. Not sure I've ever seen someone get so red so easily.
