Could you imagine our futbol program being limited to Ohio? For that matter, could you imagine Zips futbol being limited to the United States? ?2 points

I don't know if that has anything to do with this. Half of the MAC refs also officiate Big Ten games and such. To me, it starts with the commissioner of the MAC. He has to set a higher standard for officiating (and the conference in general).2 points

UAZippers: the elevating the Miami freshmen over ours is because: Some on here are always looking for new passive/aggressive ways to diss the coaching staff and the team this season. In this discussion, its that the current staff just isn't getting enough out of our freshmen unlike Miami apparently is or a former coach did. The fact is that you can't quantify what even a Dean Smith or John Wooden would be able to do with this team with these injuries.2 points

St. V. coach resigns to join UA Hopefully that means we start a better St. V pipeline that is similar to East where we get most of the D1 talent.1 point

This is potentially a very big story. You would think that intrepid Zips beat reporter at 44 E. Exchange would be all over this. Uh, never mind.1 point

All fans in the country feels their conference has the worst officials. All fans also feel their team comes up on the short end of calls.1 point

A new OC would be a blessing. Continuing the local connection, I have watched Tim Tyrell at Hoban for the last three years. He is a head coach who also acts as the OC. You can not prepare for everything he can do. He is creative while playing to the strengths and abilities of his team. Colleges have started to float offers his way and Hoban knows it is just a question of time before he goes. I believe he would make a great addition to Terry's staff and be a huge improvement as a play caller.1 point

I have to imagine they would have stricter regulations on "olympic sports".1 point

The highlights are not anything spectacular, however the video looks to only be his Freshman season. With that said, he has a lot of potential.1 point

I haven't seen anything negative from this team attributable to the coaching staff thus far. I'm not ready to anoint them as the end all be all as it is way to early to do that. Conversely, it is too early to do the opposite and criticize them. The jury's still out. If at this time next year, with the transfers on the roster and another year recruiting, the team is still struggling, my criticism will come, but right now it is way too early.1 point

I honestly don't see what you saw from their freshmen that showed that they were so far ahead of ours? Delonte Brown: Had a nice game, scored about 10 points right away and then trailed off and finished with 17. Nick Sebande: Scored 12 points by shooting 33% from the field. Jalen Adaway: 6 points Isaih Colemen-Lands: 6 points Michael Ritchie: didn't play. I didn't plan on only posting points scored, but when I looked at the box score nothing else jumped out at me either. The only player who truly killed us was Ringo and he is not a freshman. Am I missing something? Miami is a team that is carried by their one very good, Junior guard. Their big, Sophomore center also gave us problems because we had one guy eligible over 6'7". One freshman had a pretty good, not even great, game against us and it proves that our new guys suck? We have had our freshman have multiple just as good if not better games than Brown had. Is it just because they beat us in this one game on their home court? This is an honest question.1 point

I deserve a much nicer arena for the $120 a year I spend for 2 season tickets.1 point

If American college soccer were really helping develop world class players, there would be a lot more of those Genk and Bayern youth wanting to cross the Atlantic to play and get a world class education. If US soccer is to ever seriously compete for World Cup titles, collegiate soccer will be like college baseball, with not many top domestic players included. But we lack a domestic league with that mindset, as Jared rightly pointed out.1 point

Thanks for finding this article and sharing. Jared is a very hard worker and he is very smart. I am very glad that he is Akron's coach.1 point

It pains me to say it, but right now their best chance is at BG. Otherwise, we may have an o-fer.0 points

Go ahead remind us. I don't even recall his freshman year. I do remember that his class never got to an NCAA tournament0 points
