  1. "Don't see a future with Cotton here". My god. You guys act like he's been trafficking drugs or chucking plates at his girlfriend. The only negative I've seen from him is that he's an emotional player on the court. Seems like a good kid otherwise. He's got a personality similar to Ivey (who I noticed get physical with the staff this year..and nobody talked about that), and its logical that they clash. He should concede to the leaders of the team and needs to get the emotions under control some, however. The suspensions speak for themselves, but I'm not sure I recall any technical fouls this year. Quit acting like they are playing chess out there. I'll say it again - writing anybody off in their true freshman year is stupid, especially when its the 2nd best player thus far in a big class.

  7. After extensive and exhaustive research, I went with Clark as tournament MVP because he......has such a catchy last name.

  8. I'll stand by what I said. Within that statement was "Seriously I'd like to see him straighten out...". I appreciate your support of his learning process and he deserves that. But how many freshmen had two suspensions basically within the first half of the season and went on to show good character and be a productive teammate? Do I want him gone? Hell no. Just start putting the team and school first.

  10. I believe that Cotton can learn from his mistakes. I saw Cotton make those faces after the game and it upset me that an Akron player would do that but Cotton is a frosh. Also, there is really no senior leadership on this team as Duvivier is the only senior being a transfer. New coach, mainly first year players on the team, you are lacking a mentor to tell him right or wrong. There is a fine line between competitive and being respectful. Sometimes even the pros disagree on what is unprofessional conduct. Jordan Clarkson throws ball at Dario Saric, setting off Cavaliers-76ers scuffle _ ESPN - YouTube (360p).mp4 Also, the last game Cotton sees the coach charge the court and go after the referee. I understand why Groce did this but it may have sent the wrong message to the team on being respectful. Next year Cotton will be a year older and a year wiser and hopefully will learn that you can be competitive while being respectful.

  11. There are better Nah. The chart below reminds me of the story of when Lee Owens tried to recruit Allen Iverson.

  12. Ok, I have another idea. After we complete the Kent State Punk HOF, we need to compile a Most Bada$$ Looking Zips Players Of All Time list. And for that 2nd list, my top choice is Treadwell. Wood would be up there too. Then Ivey

  13. Relationships are with coaches not schools. Just because those kids ended up at UA doesn't mean the new staff can just go to Houston and expect the same results overnight.

  14. You're in trouble if you're relying on Wiki and the ABJ for accurate info

  15. Not likely. The Zips had success in Houston because Dambrot realized that the area was a hotbed of mid level d-1 recruits. The Houston area is huge(6.2million) and growing fast. Add into that, there are relatively few d-1 schools in Texas. A plan was made that Charles Thomas would heavily recruit the area. It took several years for the results to materialize. Our current staff is more likely to look for talent flowing through the prep school system.

  16. No offense to Mr. Turfe, but I can't see him ever being more than a special teams contributor.

  17. Ohh good it's approaching that time of year where the ABJ prints it's annual Infocision is a money pit article where they detail how many tickets the University bought.
