Recorded the game and just watched the replay. Wow, Riak really was the MVP of that game. I'll gladly eat my words from earlier in the season. I'm happy he's doing good and he proved to me why he should be the starting center.

I don't know if this is the right thread for this, but it needs to be said. Thank you to Groce, the coaching staff, and the team for a special season. Thank you for the incredible effort all year, never giving up, and giving us a lot to cheer for. Thank you to Groce & his staff for focusing on the fundamentals - defense, free throws, rebounding - that propelled this team all year. There's only one thing left to do...

Horribly officiated game. The refs anticipated a lot of fouls... that weren't fouls.

Can't make it to the game but got everything ready to watch it on the big screen. My wife just walked in and said we have her family visiting for the weekend and the game better not be on dominating the whole evening. If so she was leaving. I'm going to miss her. Go Zips! Destroy Kent!

Wow. Giving me more motivation to head to Ravenna and the MAC Center Monday night to cheer on EMU. Overrated? Zips aren't rated anywhere that requires someone's opinion.

Some people just see what they want to see. Sometimes consistency= mediocrity (see Rob Senderoff). Consistency can also mean you spend your entire life making the fries. Moving on often means you've done well and are sought by others for the quality of your work.

I'm still a little perturbed by Mr. Pinky. Funny how he touts the intensity of the rivalry all year. He was on the refs all night. Had his studs in down the stretch. Told the world how good his team was this year against the MAC's top teams. Now that his team loses, it was an unimportant game. What a tool. When the Zips lost a month ago, Groce credited the opponent for making the tough plays down the stretch and stated the Zips had some things to work on. Nice to have a head coach with some class.

As much as he can drive us crazy, he stabilized the defense all season. Also, unlike some of our past bigs (think Big Dog) he can hit foul shots late in the game. Lastly, Groce ended the quest for 3 pointer so no more anxiety when Riak gets the ball at the top of the key.

Successful programs lose coaches every year. Look at any winning program and you will see they turn over complete staffs ever 2 or 3 years. This shows me Arth is bringing in good people on his staff. Now he needs more good players and hopefully we will have something to root for here.

Tribbles second dunk was one of the best dunks I have seen from an Akron Guard. He was fearless going over the defender and to the hoop. Also, I was curious how bad the refs were and reviewed LCJ's first blocking foul that looked like a charge and Williams last foul that looked like a flop. Both calls were good calls. On the blocking foul Jackson did not move parallel but moved his leg forward causing the contact. On Williams last foul he hit the shooter on the arm as he was shooting and it had nothing to do with the flop or sticking the leg out.

Someone on the csnbbs board stated there is a $70 ticket pack that gets you access to all games for all sessions both mens and women's. If watching all the games is your thing, that seems like a good deal.

BSU crushing the Snow Mutts. Looks like Buffalo's win was for naught. Watched some of the CBS roundtable after the game and the guy had a funny comment about BG game. He's like "BG needed to win and Akron lose and they got neither. Akron earned the #1 seed while still on the court."
