No Kato is one of the best things to ever happen to this program. Irons is there and could flourish. We'll see tomorrow who the rest of the class is.2 points

Took a look at the roster and the batch of OL recruits: Current roster average: 6'4.5", 283.1 lbs Recruit average: 6'5.5", 307.2 lbs Granted, size isn't everything, but there's a pretty obvious focus on talent and size in the trenches. Love it.2 points

I wonder if at this point we're treading into PWO territory outside of anyone obvious (multiple offers and what not). I don't see anything about an offer from anyone on his twitter profile and bringing in 5 freshman OL seems a bit excessive. He may be on scholly though as our OL was pretty thin. I hope we can get some more clarity in the coming days.2 points

So. From what I know, he was a stud. The issue is the area teams in their classification were dog **** for the past couple years, and he didn't really face any competition until basically the state final. That said, he had 30 carries for 177 in the final this year and 26 for 125 in the final his sophomore year. So the area folks were kinda flabbergasted he wasn't getting offers but I understood it because the area was so down. Farrell's had tons of talent over the years, but that talent played a lot better of competition. I wouldn't be surprised if he turned out to be a good one, I just think school's were hesitant based on the stats maybe being padded against some really bad teams and not wanting to take the chance.1 point

This is great news for Football, Basketball, Swimming & Diving and our Outdoor Track team. I am so happy for Dennis Mitchell, his staff and especially the student athletes to finally have an outdoor track they deserve. This is huge for basketball and much needed for the rebirth of Akron Football. Thank you Charles Guthrie and staff. Go Zips!1 point

Obviously, they are the same thing. When one is referring to the University of Alabama in the morning one should use Alabama A&M, but when referring to them in the afternoon one should use Alabama P&M.1 point

It is now officially Christmas/Signing day Eve morning. This is the longest day of the year as we wait for the new gifts/players. It will be very curious to see if we get any more players and if we lose players that had previously committed to the University of Akron. I have to believe the coaches are working extra hard and long today. Cheers to a Merry Christmas/Signing day. In Joe We Trust!!!1 point

Years ago 100% used to be the top percentage. Lately I've seen them up to 10,000%. But, perhaps it doesn't matter how committed a prospect is. I noticed on 247 that one of our latest recruits was 100% committed to Campbell before committing to the Zips.1 point

Pinned atop his Twitter, he says he's 100% Committed to the Zips? That's a pretty high percentage.1 point

Yes. I can confirm the Sweater Krew have reservations at GL's Motel in Green. And I should know since I was a classmate of Gary Lee Six, former Zips' offensive lineman after whom the place is named! 🤣1 point

Those non-believers are the scum of the earth as far as I'm concerned. 😁 I'm happy the stars are aligning for Joe & Co. Putting together a nice class for having such an incredibly late start. Bowden predicted with the advent of the early signing period, that the traditional February signing day would fast become a "non-event". But it seems with the rampant transfers, coaching changes, rescinded scholarship offers, etc. February remains very relevant. Lots of talent remains available in January.1 point

I know many of you don't care about "stars" or ratings but I do 😉 247 MAC Recruiting We are not rated last in the MAC anymore We have the highest average player rating. If you were to factor in the transfer players we have brought in I am guessing we would be near the top. We also have the highest rated incoming player in Jacques-Louis (.876). Imagine what this staff will do with a full year under their belts and wind at our backs!!!!!1 point

This is all good to see and read while we watch the basketball season slip away.😐0 points

Look at my prior posts and review of Akron's opponents regarding stars. The team with the most stars of the recruits typically win the game. Who has more stars in the recruits, OSU, Auburn, etc. They win because of more talent. Then, we will have CK give 5 examples over a 15 year period where stars do not matter. Stars are not 100% accurate, but the trend is there. As I stated in the past, if you cannot play above TBAll level, you do not understand that talent matters in sports. I am out on this post so say whatever you want.0 points
