Really big game for the women tonight. A loss would drop them into the #8-10 place group and threaten MAC Tournament qualifying. They handled the Emus in Ypsilanti earlier this year, so they should be able to prevail at home. Time to start strong and keep it going.

I find it simply staggering that there are so many folks on the EMU board that feel Bates and his whole situation isn't an issue and that the team would be far worse without him. It blows my mind. Trimble didn't have nearly the negative impact here that Bates does at EMU, and it was still an understandable, yet difficult, decision to kick him to the curb and go from there. Like, awesome, he hit a few contested step-back 3s in a couple of their 5 wins with him playing this year. Last night, he missed no fewer than 4 of those alone. And then he went 1-fer against Akron and quit in the middle of the game. I've been rooting against the Eagles all year and will continue to. Stan Heath is a bum, Bates is a bum, and that program doesn't deserve to compete for a title in Cleveland.

We win by 27 and I’ve never felt so whelmed. EMU is just so bad I can’t judge how the team did. We had great rebounding and shots started to fall again in the 2nd half but how much of that was just EMU playing poor defense?

Name one team in the MAC with a dedicated Strength Coach Full time for WBB only. Not shared with other sports. 3. WBB has shelled out 10k for money games for teams to play us. 4. WBB charters on flights in league when most teams are riding the bus. These are just a few of the things that show the level of support for WBB from Athletics administration at Akron.

That was one of the best all around games Ohio has played this year. I didn't have high hopes they could sustain the effort when Wilson got into early foul trouble, because that's usually doom for us. Castaneda is a stud, so much fun to watch that guy shoot the basketball, even as an opponent. Tribble's poster dunk was one of the better ones I have seen in the Convo in a while. The play that got Groce his T unfolded in front of us but I didn't see clearly what happened to Freeman when it happened. Groce clearly defended the heck out of his guy, to the point I really thought he was going to be ejected. Great game, great atmosphere. Maybe we'll run into each other again in Cleveland.
