Regardless of the Richmond game, Morgan State is a mediocre 1-AA program (at best). We'll beat them handily. With Irons' long injury layoff, and the lack of contact in summer camp, I think he was both rusty and skittish. And we still almost won. The Zips will romp this week...Irons will get back on track...I'll have too many Oktoberfests in Lot 9...and we'll move on to Kentucky...where I'll be attending along with my wife. If there are any Zips-Lexington tailgate parties going on...besides mine...feel free to PM me. Night time kickoffs = a full afternoon of tailgating on back-to-back Saturdays!

I just heard an interview on Sirius Nascar radio of the woman that heads the Nascar Foundation. They were interviewing her because she is in Akron with Matt and his race team. They are at the Children's Hospital handing out teddy bears. One of the host of the show asked her about being with Matt in Akron where he is a rock star. Owning a Nascar team, being a former Zips quarterback and all he does for the city. She said its not just Akron but all of Northeast Ohio with his philanthropy. That its unbelievable all the things Matt does and is involved with in this area. They also talked about our marching band being there. Lebron was the caretake and face of this area but I feel Matt has taken over that role. As far as the UofA, nobody has promoted the university more. side note: One of the host is a NIU grad and the producer of the show is a Ball St. grad. so there is some MAC banter from time to time. They know my love for the Zips so when we play those schools, there is some fun dm's back and forth. If one of those 3 of 12 passes beyond 10 yards was the one to Lingard, DJ is seriously hurting and needs to have a reduced role. We can win with Undercuffler even if Joe doesn't trust the accuracy of Taj. But when you think about it Taj's accuracy has to be better than DJ. The numbers tell the story.

I think it’s the Touchdown Tire, maybe the Turnover Tire too but this defense hasn’t forced one yet. Either way, perfectly Akron and awesome!

I can't recommend highly enough to bookmark D1 Docket if you're interested in finding out who we schedule OOC as soon as possible year after year. The dude meticulously documents all OOC schedule info throughout the country, often using the FOIA to find the contracts that reveal such games. Based on that source, we have ten games thus far (2 more than that ESPN link at the moment), below, including getting the answer to the eagerly-anticipated question of who our non-D1 opponent is this year. Uh, oh. Just watched Zips Weekly and, to me, it doesn't sound like we've got a QB. DJ's obviously not 100%... we'll just leave it at that... yet the staff doesn't seem confident in allowing Tahj to throw the ball. When asked to comment on Tahj, JoeMo just said that (my paraphrase) yes, he's got a rocket for an arm, but they're still working on his accuracy & to only expect to see him in certain short-yardage situations. No other QB's were even mentioned by Joe Dunn, let alone saw any PT last week when the offense clearly needed a 2nd-half kick start. We might be in a bit of trouble 🫠

Randy was a beast. When they joined the MAC in 97, my dad and I went over to Kent to see him play since we were playing at Marshal that year. I got to see him again at that years Motor City Bowl.

Not much here that we haven’t already discussed, but worth a listen. Coach does talk about Bullock. Probably not what the fanbase was hoping for as far as the plan for his timeline. However, even the best laid plans can change. Hoping DJI can get on track this game.

Jared has done well since becoming head coach...3 College Cup appearances...including one title game appearance, but something has been off since the 2018 season. There seem to be more top notch players that choose not to go the college route these days, but every D1 school has to deal with that...shouldn't be an excuse. I like our players and believe we have plenty of depth. I sometimes question if we're lacking a hard nose player like a Perry Kitchen, Darren Mattocks, Richie Laryea, or Ezana Khasay, but I'm not sure we had one in 2009.

5-7, and based on recent history, I would consider that a huge success this season, almost something to crack open some champagne for!

I believe ULM’s head coach is going for his 4th consecutive 4-8 season as a head coach. Could be a record of some sort, keep your eyes on them!
