  1. Whenever they show a Purdue game they mention Zach Edey was the leading scorer and second leading rebounder in the NCAA this year, I wish they'd mention who the leading rebounder in the country was (who also happens to be 9 inches shorter than Edey).

  2. Yes please. Here's his highlight real. NAIA and stats aren't the full story. This dude is a FORCE. 6'8", very physical, and an in-game dunk contest winner. Groce & co. will coach up all the fundamentals. Get this guy in the Akron Blue & Gold.

  3. Akron hosts Dayton next week BGSU hosts Michigan State those are the last 2 matches in regular part of College spring league North If Michigan State wins at BG, Michigan State wins the north division with 10 points If Michigan State ties BG, Michigan State wins the North Division with 8 points Akron could also reach 8 points with a win at home. However, Michigan State wins the tiebreaker against Akron because MSU won the PK shootout after the 2 teams tied Is there any way that Akron can win the college spring league North? answer is yes Akron beats Dayton at home BG beats Michigan State at home both finish with 8 points and MSU ends with 7 points Akron wins the tiebreaker against BG.....because Akron won the PK shootout after the two teams finish tied if both games next week finish in a tie 1. MSU 8 2. Akron 6 3. BG 6 (loses TB) 4. Dayton 5 If Akron ties and BG beats Michigan State 1. BG 8 2. MSU 7 3. Akron 6 4. Dayton 5 if Akron loses and BG and MSU tie 1. MSU 8 2. Dayton 7 3. BG 6 4. Akron 5 even after laying out the scenarios, I can not root for BG and their thuggish style of soccer..... What matters to me......is that the zips need to get their offense going and establish some positive momentum.....headed into the fall As NYC Zip pointed out, the soccer zips have scored 1 goal from the run of play in 3 spring games..... I only care about results in the fall........what I want to see in the game against Dayton....and the game in Columbus.......is to get the offense humming....assists from Caleb Borneo, Maximus Barboto...and goals by Dyson and Malik and Stefan....... I hope that the soccer faithful that live in NE Ohio....see some forward passes and some goals next weekend

  4. I'd much rather take a shot on a player like this than taking a veteran role player like Thornton. Lower floor but higher ceiling.

  8. Of the three categories of UMass fans, only those identifying as primary Hoop fans had a majority not liking or hating the moved. Now this was on the hoop forum and few football fans voted but those either loved it or liked it. All sports fans overwhelming like the move.

  12. This year’s crop of MAC DTs is not quite as deep as the 2023 class. I also think the two defensive line coaches Akron has had since Moorhead’s arrival have done as good of a job recruiting as any DL coach in the MAC. HS/JUCO DTs: 1) AKRON - Elijah Davis HUDL FILM 2) AKRON - Ronald Hull HUDL FILM 3) KENT STATE - Josue Cordoba HUDL FILM 4) MIAMI - Oyeka Alexander HUDL FILM 5) WESTERN MICHIGAN - Jordan Buckley HUDL FILM TRANSFER DTs: 1) AKRON - Nathan Kapongo 2) WESTERN MICHIGAN - Anterio Thompson 3) OHIO - CJ Doggette 4) EASTERN MICHIGAN - Dylan Shelton 5) BUFFALO - Tristan Souza 2023 DTs and how they fared: 1) WESTERN MICHIGAN - Sid Kaba = N/A Redshirted. 2) TOLEDO - Wayne Peart = N/A Redshirted. 3) OHIO - Kobi Gorman = 5 Tackles and 1 Sack. 4) BOWLING GREEN - James Thomas = N/A Redshirted. 5) AKRON - Marcus Moore = 8 Tackles. Who I may have missed on: N/A thus far.

  14. ClevelandZip (from UA News thread) Posted February 3 https://signalakron.org/wonder-bread-building-university-akron-demolished/ I thought this was an interesting article. UA is demolishing the old Akron Baking/Wonder Bread building. It is also planning on demolishing other buildings and selling off ones that can be salvaged. The article specifically says UA is trying to sell Quaker Square (which is not unexpected). A preservationist is quoted in the article saying that preserving Quaker Square, the Central Hower Auditorium, and the Martin building are his priorities. -------------------- One can only assume UA will get all the blame from John Q. Public if QS is sold and gets torn down. If anyone should be responsible for its preservation it's the Quaker Oats Co. It would make a great company museum and gift shop.
