  1. I did a podcast the other week previewing the Zips for another team and mentioned I’ve never seen a team play 13 one score games over two seasons - and only win 3 of them. One of the hosts couldn’t believe Zips played a total of 7 overtimes last year. We need to be on the winning side of more of those games this season.

  2. I don't find the schedule to be all that brutal. If we were a good team by MAC standards we'd be able to compete with both Rutgers and South Carolina. The problem is we're not a good team by MAC standards.

  3. I've spoken to a couple of MAC head coaches and these games are recruiting tools for MAC level athletes. It's a thrill for a player to compete in the Horseshoe, at Tennessee, Penn State, etc. And every once in awhile, the underdog pulls one out. I'm sure Appalachian State fans aren't sorry they played Michigan at the Big House. Or Ohio fans for the game at Penn State several years back.

  6. So they're already placing an over/under on the halftime score? Or is that number referencing the value, in millions of dollars, that each team would need in order to match the other's NIL fund?

  7. if you were trying to win would you create the OOC schedule we have? Not winning doesn't benefit it, but that doesn't mean they're trying.

  8. I agree. I'm not even that interested in much of college football anymore. Maybe if I was their target audience, degenerate gambler, I might have more interest. At least they get two, two minute warnings so they can add another five minutes into the marathon of watching a game now. It's all so gross. I'm not kidding when I say this.... They aren't trying to win, and those who go to games are having their money stolen from them.

  9. I don't believe I've ever been less excited about an upcoming year of Zips football. Last year completely took the zip out of me and this week one matchup pisses me right off.

  11. John's dad, Larry Groce, has passed away after a battle with cancer. Prayers for the Groce family. I'm glad he was able to see the Zips run to the tournament.
