  2. Perfect team to go to. Haliburton is a great person, and we might see Freeman get airtime on McAfee which would be good for his brand and Akron. He'll be coming back to Cleveland quite often.

  4. Current scholarship chart attached. I'm showing 3 available spots still assuming we have both a Punter and Kicker on scholly. 38 total new scholarship prospects this year, with 25 from either JUCO or another college If it were me, I'd look to add at least another QB and possibly RB. 5. If we got UNLV to come to the JAR, that would be a huge get.

  6. Just the reaction I'd expect from that wonderful humble kid. Time to start planning our Indy road trip for Cavs at Pacers.

  8. I'm not sure what show you're referring to. When I think "Northeast Ohio Media" I think of TV/print/online. ABJ, PD, WKYC, WEWS, and others have all been giving Freeman fantastic exposure throughout his draft process.

  9. I don't know about App State or Arkansas State, but JMU lost their coach and pretty much their entire team. I don't view it as a missed opportunity.

  10. Plus, it's a team on the rise. My worry was he would go to a team that may have a full G League team but he may start in G League, but could be a 2 way contract player. He'll be on a decent summer league team with Jerace Walker, Ben Sheppard (not sure if he'll play summer league), Furphy, & Newton. July 12-22 will be the summer league in Vegas.

  13. Just took a look at the current roster. Two new names to keep an eye on: Ahmarian Granger: Former WR at Old Dominion. Part time starter last year, committed to James Madison this recruiting cycle, but never ended up there..possibly as a result of their coach getting poached to Indiania. Issiah Walker: looked like a big time prospect coming out of high school. Apparently spent time at both Florida, Miami, and JUCO. Had a lot of offers (and commitments) this most recent recruiting cycle, including to Colorado. Ultimately was supposed go to to Texas State, but ended up here. Apparently only a redishirt Jr, but seems like one we shouldn't get our hopes up about being here more than a year. Regardless, could be a real nice plug at one of the tackle positions for this season. Also noticed two more OL: Alex Fox from IUP (D2) and Jacob Kumfert from St Francis (PA). Those seem to be more walk on caliber based on their collegiate stats/initial prospect pedigree.

  19. App State is in the same boat. Arkansas State is allegedly the conference favorites.

  21. Congrats to Freeman. Great to see Akron on the draft board. Groce deserves a great deal of credit for giving him an opportunity to develop as a player and then developing a great relationship with him to keep him at Akron.

  22. Exactly, I've seen multiple articles from the Cleveland Plain Dealer regarding Freeman.

  23. Oh bc Bronny is a terrible player and would never get drafted if he didn't ride his daddies coattails. Why do you think Bronny should possibly go ahead of Freeman? The guy averaged an abysmal 4.8 ppg in college. Freeman is light years better

  24. Big time get for us. Syracuse was firmly after him. He took a round of OVs - with one of them being to Syracuse and finished his OVs with us. The staff apparently sealed the deal at that time. The Syracuse insiders at Rivals were all over this one and predicted the commitment to Akron yesterday.

  25. The Big East Championship was on FS1 last season. I think we will still be subjected to the high cost of the FloSports platform for the regular season.
