Last year's senior night was against NIU, and this year's Freeman night is against NIU. That's 2 of the last 4 Zips games I've attended being against the Huskies. They cannot go to the Horizon Summit Valley Conference League soon enough.

The first words my wife said to me at 6:55 am this morning - "It's Enrique Freeman Day!"

Even before legal sports betting was a thing in Ohio I always felt the lines were useful. Particular when you might not be familiar with an opponent.

Sportsbook in the JAR! (Which would be illegal). I don't like that there's betting on college sports but I do like doing it. I'm a very small time better. A $10 bet is a big one for me. I enjoy looking at the lines as it gives a sense of what the books think the public sentiment is on a game.

Who knew that when this board was created many moons ago that instead of talking about zones, presses, defenses, rebounding, and my favorite, terrible refs, we would be discussing over-under, parlays, and the money line. Actually, I am fine with it since anything that draws interest in Akron basketball is a positive. There is no question that gambling on college sports has drawn more interest in college sports. There is a reason that ESPN is broadcasting almost every college basketball game this year no matter how bad the teams. However, it does very little to put butts in the JAR and may even reduce attendance since it is so easy to watch tonight's game on ESPN instead of braving the cold to honor Freeman. If anyone has any ideas how an interest on betting on the Zips could increase attendance, would love to hear them.

Based on an article that was shared with me, it looks like PSU switched his position to WR after an injury. Hopefully his switch back to Safety for us will yield success.

Freeman's attendance is worth at least 10 more points. Here's to hoping Akron honors him properly and wins by 25.

We've had very good luck with the previous Penn State transfers, so I'm very hopeful.

I could be completely wrong, but I don't think they technically have. Because they're 7 games ahead of teams currently #7-9. But one of those is CMU who we play again. So if CMU beats us, they could hold a tie breaker. Obviously none of this will matter as we'll win another game and those teams will lose again. 😆
