  1. They're trying, and that's all I can ask for. Gameday experience is so much better, in-game entertainment is solid, they've had some nice promos - I appreciate the clear effort that has been there. I'd love to see the sideline bleachers replaced by seats one day, and concessions leave a lot to be desired, but they're doing a pretty good job with what they have to work with.

  2. Don't forget guys, the game is at 6:00.

  3. I would start by replacing the bleachers with chairbacks on the top sideline. Keep the bleachers behind the basket as GA seating. Everything else is assigned (thus higher pricing). I missed out on buying tickets in time to get chair seating for the Kent game and the bleachers were not pleasant for this mid-30s guy. The seating is not spaced out enough for the average size of an American in this day and age.

  5. We need to find a way to get Shammah going.

  7. I know when I was a student about 15 years ago, they had live Kangaroos at Spring Fest. I assume they were from the zoo but I don't know.

  8. They're still 5th in Kenpom luck. In long run things even themselves out. Edit: It's also on Pinky for mismanaging his timeouts. If he had one in his pocket he could have initiated a review.

  9. Kent got totally robbed there with the refs not even bothering to look at a replay with 2.5 seconds left and gave southern miss the ball to win it😂

  10. I've stopped into watch a few of these games and man these SunBelt gyms look empty. Maybe a few hundred in attendance for a Saturday game. Granted the games I've watched so far have been mostly the lower ranked teams, but even Southern Miss, who is middle of the conference, looks like a ghost town.

  11. Here’s something I haven’t heard discussed. I see that Akron has a zoo. It’s not the largest zoo, but looks to be a very nice zoo. Please, please, please tell me they have a few kangaroos bouncing around over there!! That would be a great cross-promotion opportunity for the University and the community zoo. To promote the Akron Zoo they could bring in one of Zippy’s friends for a game each year for show and tell. And at the Akron Zoo the enclosure should call them Zips. Every kid growing up in Akron should see a kangaroo and refer to them as Zips.

  15. I do agree that is the most feasible option. I just don't think that alone will turn a 3,000 person crowd to 3,500.

  16. I like YSU's arena and would be content with that type of upgrade. Seat backs on the sides, bring the top seats forward, bleachers on the ends, ditch the glass rail, give Clarkie front row seats for his input...

  17. I think the reality is if they upgrade the seats the ticket prices go up. I am willing to pay maybe $100 more per season ticket for a 2026 level stadium seat lol I know I’m not everyone though

  18. I'd be content with a solution that involved upgrading the seating and getting rid of the track.

  19. Any meaningful renovation is probably going to cost 10s of millions of dollars. All to sell maybe a few hundred more tickets to games. Mathematically it just doesn't make sense. Especially when you consider the new car smell will quickly wear off. It lasted at Infocision for all of 1 game. ~15 home games for $100 is still an incredible value for entry level price. That's a comparable price of attending a high school game, maybe even cheaper, and you get to watch a team that is consistently in or around the top 100 teams nationally at the collegiate level. Heck you can even turn those 15 tickets into 3 games of 5 tickets to have 3 cheap family fun nights. It's challenging to take a family of 5 out and not spend close to $100 for 1 night. It's really hard to ask for anything extensive, especially given the financial constraints the University is under. I think since Wentz has gotten more involved we have seen some good improvements. Good student promotions/improved seating, jersey giveaways, $2 Buds before tipoff to get more people to the game early. There is plenty that still could be done. As someone else mentioned the concessions. I think I've only ever gotten stuff there 2-3x as frankly its underwhelming.

  21. From an enjoyment perspective I say this every season. They need better concession options. And get new seats for the lower bowl. The chairs are old and falling apart. from a promo perspective they have done decent. The mascot day was a huge hit and this is 2nd straight year giving away a jersey! I would love to see a top tier talent for halftime. Such as Red panda. And then one more major promo that draws families. Like a bounce houses on the end zones.

  22. Two year guaranteed contract is nice. Gives him some time to get his feet wet and prove his ability. I think we'll see him on the MLS team within those two years.

  23. @zipsfb posted on Instagram today. A picture of football players added to the zip's team and said that there are 26 players added to the new spring roster doesn't say if they are scholarship players only or if it includes walk on players, but it does say that there are 26 new players added to the team.

  25. Let’s hope it works out better than last year. Basically got nothing from those JUCO DL.

  26. Also, just confirmed Jasun Ridley, a DE from Pasadena CC. We've been hitting the California JUCO/CC scene very hard. I understand this is the route we have to rely on with our financial limitations but hopefully it pays off.

  27. I'm guessing now that school is started and a couple weeks in that we will not be getting any college age commits until the end of the semester right? nobody would be able to start school this late i don't think? I could see getting some very late high school senior commits but it wouldn't make sense to get to get any commits from anyone right now in the portal that could not attend college or am I way off on this thinking? I remember last year laventure, duncan, and brown came at the beginning of june so i am kind of expecting the same. Not that it is necessarily a bad thing cause it will give the returning freshman the whole semester to get their feet wet and see what the have before any new blood comes in.

  28. Zips lose 82-71 to now 3-21 Louisiana. Trying to figure out why we were still fouling down 9 with 6.8 seconds left. (I still remember a game a couple years ago when they didn't foul quickly with just under a minute to go and own only a two score game.) Two steps forward, one step back. 🙄
