  1. It feels great getting consideration from recruits that a program of Memphis caliber is targeting.
  2. I don't think they would have been anyways. If people weren't talking about UMCB, I'm guessing they'd be talking about Loyola.
  3. They went 8-24, of course there isn't much there.
  4. Yeah, I feel the setup of winning 3 games in 3 days really hurt Akron the last few years considering our team was built around and heavily relied on a 300 lb C. Perimeter players are better adapt to that kind of setup.
  5. If a blue blood wanted him bad enough I'm sure a ~$2 million buyout would be pocket change to them. I can't imagine he's a target of any of those schools yet, but perhaps if Buffalo pulls off another 1-2 wins he could be.
  6. Put me in the category of being glad to see the MAC pull off the win. People are right when they say one year won't change the perception of the MAC, but you have to start building from some point.
  7. Having Antino might have added a few regular season wins, but at the end of the day we still wouldn't have had the depth nor talent at the bigs to compete this season.
  8. The MAC's issue is we have a few above average teams and a bunch of mediocre ones. It's much better to be a top heavy heavy conference like the WCC if the goal is to get multiple bids. On another note, the season is over now. Can we put to rest the Duquesne - Akron comparisons please?
  9. I'd agree most likely are at or above 10 which certainly would put us at a disadvantage.
  10. Being a non-revenue sport, I'd be shocked if all other MAC baseball schools offered the full 11.7 scholarships.
  11. Personally, I feel the tougher and more enjoying feat would be winning the MAC tournament as an 11 seed over beating a ~.500 MEAC/SWAC team.
  12. I'm in agreement that Akron would be a 16 seed. I just don't think they would be one of the 16 seeds who has to play in Dayton.
  13. I admit I wrote the Zips off and didn't watch. To those that didn't lose hope and watched I'm glad you were treated to a good game Looking at the box score it seems Cotton and Utomi picked the best time of the year to play perhaps their best game of the season. I'm glad to see we pulled off the win. I still don't think we have a chance in hell of making the tournament, but making it to Cleveland should provide good experience for our team in future years.
  14. I'm just going to pretend the tournament is taking a 1 year hiatus
  15. Doesn't matter to me where the players come from as long as they are talented and help the Zips win games.
  16. Great work! I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to put together this quality piece.
  17. I'd have been more disappointed had this been the year we play Kent at home. As it stands there are 6 games I don't need to travel for and 5 of those are on Saturdays. Last year there were only 4 such games and 1 of those were Pine Bluff Edit: It should also be noted everyone knew we only had 5 home games so given that knowledge, this schedule was about the best outcome anyone could of hoped for.
  18. I think the $25 deposit is for the premium plans.
  19. I'm not writing K-Lac off, but that's an apples to oranges comparison. The offense last year was ran through Big Dog, who had significantly more touches per game. You fail to mention Big Dog's 103 assists were a team best. He averaged 1.22 assists per turnover. K-Lac is averaging 4.5 turnovers per assist.
  20. I think you might be confused. That $25 figure listed on the picture is actually the deposit amount. GA season tickets still start at $60 so the price per game actually went up, not down.
  21. The defense can certainly use the help.
  22. Are they cheaper? I thought plans started at $60 last year.
  23. Not to mention we've lost 6 out of our last 7 games, 5 of which by double figures, including the 24 point beat down to current co-cellar dweller Ohio.
  24. Quite the offer list. Groce is going to have to work some of his recruiting magic to land this guy.
  25. I'm going to guess another scholarship frees itself up one way or another. Personally, I don't mind Utomi playing 15-20 min a night at the 4. I want our best players on the court as many minutes as possible and it appears the strength of our team is going to be at the g/sf positions.
