I think I saw that Miami's expected starting QB is out for the season. Not sure on WMU.

It may have also just been scheduled several weeks ago. Who knows?

I overheard basically this exact conversation on the way out of the game so it's definitely real for some people.

Definitely not a good crowd so far. Hopefully it fills in before (or shortly after) kickoff.

Surely there was a reason they expected him to be eligible. So, what's changed since then?

Not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere on here yet but I contacted the ticket office to ask when scarves for season ticket holders will be available. They told me they'll be available at the match on September 8 against Cornell as that's the match where they're honoring Doc Nash.

Army comes to campus tomorrow (August 24) for a 7 pm kickoff. I don't want to say any game should be easy, especially this early in the season, but Army hasn't made the NCAA Tournament since 1996. They won 7 games last year, after winning 4 games in 2024 and 3 games in 2023. The weather forecast looks perfect for tomorrow and it's the first day of classes so it could be a decent crowd.

Excellent use of "poor" as a noun instead of an adjective. 😂

Wasn't sure where to put this but we've locked in some money games for upcoming years. https://fbschedules.com/akron-adds-five-power-opponents-to-future-football-schedules/

Student turnout was decent but not great. Lots of empty seats in the main stand, which indicates to me that season ticket sales were not great which is disappointing after an Elite 8 run.

Nolan has won several balls back with great defending. Also, Braxton had some great passes in his minutes even though they didn't lead to anything of note.

A new video board on the side of the field opposite the main stand would be perfect. I'm just not sure where the money would come from.

Yeah, that's what I heard while watching the women's match broadcast on Sunday.

I was looking over the Dayton roster while eating lunch today and it's very intriguing...They have 6 players from Africa (4 from Ghana, 2 from Nigeria) and 5 from Europe (Two from Spain and 1 from Portugal, Denmark, and France). I know Akron is no stranger to international players, but I'm not sure we've ever had 11 in a single season (unless you include Canada).

That's great. I wasn't sure how many students will be at this match since it's before the semester starts. I believe it's on the first day of move-in for on-campus students.

But could Amani, in theory, return to Akron since he never entered the portal?

Until I see reason to be concerned, I'm not concerned about players from "IU Indy", "Idaho", and "Rhode Island". I'm still more worried about Miami, Kent, and Toledo.

Checked in on last night's result for Austin FC II and saw that Stefan had two more goals last night before being subbed out at 63 minutes!

College Soccer News also ranks the Zips at #12 in their preseason poll. https://www.instagram.com/p/DcCIBqwO9OC/?igsh=MWZkeTBqZTR1OXM3Zw==

For the basketball arena rights, I'd put money on it being Wentz Financial.

Does anyone happen to be attending the match? It may be the only way we know the result as the pre-season matches seem to be more and more secretive each year. Not just for us, but across college soccer.

I just saw in an email from coach Nanchoff that after the current store closes on August 17th, a new store will open on August 19 and run through September 2. That new store will have gear featuring the A Star logo, he stated.

Interesting tidbits in this article from Crain's Cleveland. https://www.crainscleveland.com/sports-recreation/ccl-akron-budgets-20260730/?utm_id=gfta-ur-260804&share-code=JLNNNSYNZNEDHABW5EKNKF23N4&user_id=3852360&customer_secondary_source=ccl_articleGifting
