Do we really want this game on TV? I hope Terry and the boys make a good showing of it...I hate to see a stinker on national television.

17:02 we score on a layup.....and then we don't score again until 12:01 on a free throw after numerous missed free throws. Why are we so afraid to go inside?

Terribly depressing start to a season but at this point I've gotten used to it. I know longer tell people how good Akron is going to be because I get laughed at early in the season....it is much better for them to just ask me about them come MAC tournament time.

Talk about shitting down your leg....it all started with the weak decision to punt. TB had the opportunity to keep his team engaged and pumped up and he elected to take the air out of the ball and the team's excitement.
-
This defense isn't stopping anyone....TB can't punt. Besides what does he have to lose? Someone needs to get Coach Amato some players because we are dreadful. We stack the d-line and still can't stop the run.

That's just enough to replace the ones they are losing this year.

Game This Wednesday is NOT Cancelled?

If your parents don't have the money don't worry China will lend it to you. -
The title of this thread is What next? What's next is a complete ass beating by our rival. Do you ever remember being 20 point underdogs to K.E.N.T.? I'd take K.E.N.T and lay the points all damn day log....this is your opportunity to get rich.

Still pretty stunned by the loss on Saturday. I was disappointed in our inability to change our offensive game plan. Chisholm ran the ball really well....our other RBs didn't do much. I would have really liked to see Bowden run Chisholm more in the second half and taken advantage of them being set up to stop the pass. The optimism is diminishing on this season and can't see us winning the next two weeks. This season is actually really setting up to be a two win season if we can beat UMass at home in the second to last game. Bowden warned us about this but the fun we were having at the beginning of this season took over and we all had dreams of winning more....I'm sorry I don't see that happening now. The real question is how long is going to take to turn this ship around?

Did you happen to notice who their 2010 QB was? None other than Zack Stoudt from another thread.

I think the Roo Walk is misplaced. I think lot 9 has a solid tailgating experience developing and consistent -- the longer term fans of the Zips are there. I won't be walking all the way to the other side of the field house and leaving my tailgate for the walk. I think you have to walk them through the people not expect the people to move to the walk.

I wonder if someone could have guaranteed Brian Wagner that this season was going to be more fun than since he'd been here...would he have stayed? I hate that Ianello made him not like football so much he quit again when he got to Arizona. How sad!

OU does it again and continues to get national publicity from their band. I know this has been talked to death but these kids truly look like they have fun at every game. I enjoy the soothing sounds of Roberta Flack as much as the next guy (sarcasm) but I'd really like high energy half time shows. Gangnam Style! http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=playe...;v=FSvVwylGtes#!

skip....i think some of the replacement refs are actually MAC refs. If I understand correctly the higher level refs are part of the same union as the NFL refs or have some agreement with them in hopes of getting called up. So if poor refereeing drives them to us we'll then drive them back right?

2013 6'9 C Isaiah Johnson commits to Akron
Big Zip replied to Districtballer's topic in Akron Zips Basketball Recruiting
I watched the videos of this guy too and he doesn't dunk at all. He does impose his will with his size on the court, but no dunking. I hope this doesn't put him in the soft category. I want a kid that size that comes in here and is fierce! -
How did this focus of this string change? The question was of the young man's health? Has anyone heard anything regarding his health? Staff infections are terrible. I hope he is doing well and will wait to comment on his play until I've had an opportunity to see him play more.

Tell me something...why isn't the media concentrating on the companies who use these call centers? Obviously they have found it beneficial.

I think the NBC TV contract has is for $15 million per year. The Big Ten Network pays their team a lot more money than that between $20 and $25 million. At one point the Notre Dame contract was a big deal, but anymore there is more money elsewhere. Not to mention why would NBC sign Notre Dame for more $ going forward? The team has been abysmal and ratings are down. I'm not sure what they are trying to prove anymore by staying independent. They would be better off in a conference.

This game was infinitely more watchable than the Ianello years. Out of curiosity I took a look at the last two years and the number of plays run a game. What I found was we only ran 81 plays once in the two years and it was last year against VMI. Ianello's first game we had 10 penalties compared with three last Saturday. The weird part was our balance never seemed to be dictated by the score. Sometimes we'd lose big and run it more and sometimes we'd lose and pass it more. Overall last Saturday just felt like a professional coaching staff running the show and doing their job. I never felt that way with Ianello. Also, as far as what to look for this year....we lost to FIU by 10, EMU by 7 and CMU by 1. It seems we've upgraded out talent on the field and definitely in the coaching department -- hopefully we can we four games. Sure would be nice to have Brian Wagner on this team.

Zips will be at PSU in 2014. Are you telling me we should blow them off the field by then?

Nicely named a starter. http://www.news-herald.com/articles/2012/0...s/nh5910018.txt

I think it all starts with winning. After there is winning and getting some players then you'll start to see other players from the school look at Akron because their fellow "X" HS grad went there. There are some kids on this list who are 2 star kids who would be good gets.

Not a single Zips recruit in the Top 50 (according to the PD) in Northeast Ohio. http://highschoolsports.cleveland.com/news...e-plain-dealer/ Plenty of juniors and seniors who have committed so it could change, but Buffalo, Miami and BG all have one while Toledo has two. It does mention one "short" receiver with an offer from Akron and Can't.
