  1. It is doubtful that Riley will return. Mobley will be missed but I'm confident Gensler will find a replacement in the portal. He is feeling any outside pressure at this point. Only the pressure he is putting on himself to turn the tides of this program.
  2. If you guys are going to make snarky comments, you should at least know what your talking about. Considering the amount of injuries and other issues with players, this year's team still competed every night. You know that Bud Wentz also runs a NIL program for the womens team? We have some pretty good freshmen and will pick up a couple more players from the portal. Shelbee Brown will be back and those injured players will return too. Gensler is a good coach. Eventually things will start to go our way.
  3. I felt like they torched us when we went zone. Gave up to many easy baskets and rebounds.
  4. If Akron is smart they will take the space where the inner belt was and turn it into a park with some amenities. Kind of like a mini central park.Right now there is a faction who thinks it should be some kind of reparations project to right a precieved wrong from 60 years ago. If you want to attract young people to live downtown there needs to be someplace for recreation. Charlotte has a big advantage with the nice year round weather. But Akron has nice enough weather to make it useful for 9 months of the year.
  5. You will get them via email around noon tomorrow.
  6. Right after the final buzzer, Tod went over and started screaming at Ricky Stokes about the officiating.
  7. The sale price is $800,000. They are spending $500,000 in operating expenses.
  8. My mother always taught me if you don't have something good to say, don't say anything at all. I hope UA provides him with the support he needs to continue to run a successful MAC program. I personally hope he stays.
  9. Ryan Andrick cold cocked Dan Hipsher on the sidelines during a game.
  10. Last night everybody was a winner thanks to Bud Wentz. In the putting contest, a new target sign was revealed that was 50% larger and had no target hole. The announcers said all that was required to win the $10,000 prize was to hit the sign. The young lady contestant took aim and sent a straight putt right at it. Just as the ball got there, the helpers lifted the sign and the ball passed underneath. The contestant started to walk away but was informed she had indeed won $10,000! Bud was waiting with the check at the other end of the court. The shot for tuition contest took a similar twist. A student was selected as always who could win a semester of tuition by sinking a layup, a foul shot, a three point shot and a half court shot in 30 seconds. It was then announced there would be a substitute celebrity shooter. Ali Ali! He calmly sank the first three shots on his first attempt. After about 10 attempts he banked in the halfcourt shot and the crowd went wild! Kudos to Bud for thinking outside the box to make senior night special.
  11. Buchtel and Carrol streets we major east west arteries at the time I started in fall of 77.
  12. Meeting a minimum standard is difficult when your bosses are demanding that your football program needs to be a cash cow to appease those who want to abolish the whole thing.
  13. You can't change demographics. Fewer students means less demand. Change or die.
  14. You can thank Guthrie. The MAC still sucks for making us play Kent on a weeknight.
  15. He is our most coveted player. His production the last few games is just a reflection of being a true freshman. He has the most upside of any player on the roster. P4 will be coming hard for him in the off-season. The only guy with a bigger upside is JG.
  16. We should have won by 20! Emu sank a half court shot at the buzzer. Considering the way everything went down this season tonight was a great ending.
  17. I think you are mistaking Briscoe for Harris. Harris has not been with the team since his shoulder injury. Briscoe was not on the bench last night due to illness.
  18. Great job by Associate AD Samantha Maxwell!
  19. Our offense looked stagnant because Kent ran a double team at Tavari everytime he touched the ball in the backcourt. It wasn't a trap but more of a 2 man zone. That resulted in a lot of dribbling. I was shocked at the end when Sullinger passed up several open 3 looks. I too was surprised when Hornbeak was not in the game at the end. We had no answer for him most of the second half.

  21. The pathway we are on as a nation is not sustainable. The interest payments on our national debt is destroying our economy. The reckless spending of the last 10 years cannot continue. The past administrations strategy of essentially just printing more money is about to have the bill come due. Trillions of dollars in low interest rate short term debt will need to be refinanced soon at double the rate. The IRS has 45,000 employees. The few new hires that DOGE is trimming are not going to delay tax returns unless the remaining employees decide to take some type of work action to slow things down.
  22. He was just raising money so his mom could come to stay with him.
  23. Scott has been our most consistent player during MAC play. He seems to have really embraced his role as leader of the second unit. He also is usually in at the end of the game.
