  1. Dan's NFL "career" is all the validation I need that the guy was a good MAC-level QB who lucked into a great MAC situation...but who has no business being mentioned alongside the all-time great MAC QB's. Put him on this year's Zips team, and people would be screaming for Zach D'Orazio.
  2. Only GP1 is allowed to review books on ZipsNation.
  3. Anyone know if the O$U/Zips shirt swap was successful?
  4. I remember Tressel telling the kid to renege on his Zips commitment and attend a prep school so he could play for Ohio State. Didn't work out.
  5. If we did honor him, it's certainly fine. But it's been 10 years since he passed, and he was not a Zips player. Although it's history, I don't know that it's worth re-hashing. Personally, I wouldn't place an unnecessary buzz-kill on what will be an absolutely electric home environment. My 2 cents.
  6. I don't know if it makes their job easier, but his abilities certainly make the o-line look a lot better than it is. He hits seams harder and faster than any RB we've had since Hendry. If Dennis Kennedy had that mindset, he'd have been in the NFL. Now if we could only get a QB that makes our OL look a lot better than it is...
  7. Hence the term - Fair Weather Fan
  8. Out-of-Town rules are as follows - To qualify for a listed "Tailgate" beer, said beer must be drank - #1 - On a Zips Game Day #2 - Pre-, during or Post-game (1hr post-game limit) #3 - While somehow participating in a Zips Game Day festivity, including but not limited to - a.) Actively reading ZipsNation (ie. a Game Day thread) b.) Watching the Zips on TV or Webcast c.) Listening to Frenchy IMPORTANT: In the event no form of Zips contact is available, you can bypass 3a, 3b and 3c by saying "Gerry Faust" before your 1st sip, or uttering a minimum of one full sentence in an audible "Gerry Faust Voice." Note -- Rules #1 and #2 still apply. Note - These rules only apply to individuals living outside of reasonable driving distance to a Zips home game. "Locals" are expected to be drinking in a parking lot!
  9. Updated for Weeks 1 --> 4! Could three home games in October spell "J-A-C-K-P-O-T" for InfoCision-area aluminum and glass recyclers?
  10. I think most people thought Solich was too old (to be a successful HC after Nebraska). Or too drunk. It just happens that most people were wrong.
  11. Because Nicely's hit the wide receivers in the hands, and Moore's either sail over their head, or bounce at their feet? Because Sconiers and Russell were Freshmen last season with Nicely, and they're somewhat-improved Sophomores now. :P
  12. Does that mean you pass on him as a head coach at this point in time? Or does that mean that, regardless of whatever he accomplishes outside of UA, you would NEVER want to see him back at his alma mater as a HC? I have to believe that ship has sailed. If here were going to be hired, it would have been immediately after Brookhart. He's in his mid-50's now.
  13. How'd you feel after watching mediocre Toledo nearly beat Ohio State? I'm sorry...49-0 at the half...nothing can make me feel better about that.
  14. TESTIFY, Brother TOTZ!
  15. No big rush on that one.
  16. Odd, for a Military program? Certainly helpful for the Zips.
  17. He's back home where he belongs.Do you know something that you're not at liberty to be specific about?Breaking news -- I'm told he will be on the Zips bench this season.
  18. I spend a few weeks in Fountain Hills every year...probably be out there again around Christmas.
  19. One odd thing about the Outing...Nick Dials was there. Was that a conflict of interest?
  20. I won't be there until around 1:45pm, but should have a couple extra tickets. If you are around/underneath the Lot 9 scoreboard area at that time, I will cut you an excellent deal. Hope to see you Saturday. The Lot 9'ers are a good crew. I recommend you stop by and say hello. Many will be there before 10am. :wave:Addition: Here is a post I made on another site in response to a Temple fan asking a similar question. It contains a link to a ginormous area map that you might find helpful.
